I cannot even begin to explain why, but, "I am a rock on top of the sand," is such a specific and powerful descriptor it's almost ungodly. Mother Mother never fails to impress, and their profound use of figurative language and imagery is enough to make any English teacher shudder.

the reason i love mother mother's music so much is because they're so good at changing the vibes of a song. this song and arms tonite are a good example of this. there's definitely more cheery joyful melody and instrumentals that make you feel well... cheery and joyful but then they almost always have that like beautifully aggressive harmonizing, like at 2:07, that just adds an extra layer that's super fun and exciting to the song. one of my favorite bands. they're geniuses.

This song actually hits me kinda hard. I'm a naturally destructive person, and so whenever I start something new, I have the urge to tear it apart or watch it decay. I was dating this girl, and she was just way to clingy for me and I spent almost every hour of the day trying to piece her back together. I've always been drawn to people with emotional issues, and I try to help, so she was just like a massive calling for me. I eventually broke up with her because I knew it wasn't right, and people blamed the fact that I'm destructive for "Dumping" her, when in reality? I was just sick of human interaction.

Saygfoodbwhikq2 this song reminds me of my past self (from a few years ago). I’m big, and clumsy, and constantly break stuff. Back then, I was constantly bullied and because of the consent torment I became very angry, very aggressive and very destructive. I broke whatever I touched on purpose, got into fights, and was always just acting bitter. This story does have a happy ending though, my mom pulled me out of the school and I’ve made the rode to recovery
@TheGeesetreats4 жыл бұрын
it's been 11 months and maybe you've grown since this comment, but it's important to understand yourself... Being 'sick of human interaction' resonates with me because I'm an introvert, and it took me 15 years of dating to realize I need a partner who's more important to me, more comfortable to be with, than my own company. And since figuring that out, being honest with people up front, it's saved me some trouble in dating. But I was the same, drawn to the vulnerable ones, the ones I thought I could 'fix', looking for an answer to their problem, trying to figure them out... now I know I just needed to figure myself out, and not latch onto the attention of another like I was.

this was a year ago, but i agree deeply. due to trauma, i can’t feel empathy or guilt or regret as easily as i’d like to. this leads me to hurt people, not regret it, and carries it on. i *don’t* want to, but there’s like this voice in my head which tells me i will never stop hurting people, so there’s literally no point of changing it. but sometimes, the other side of my head blames me for hurting people, so i *try* to fix myself and fix them. but i can’t. i keep resorting to my distancing. i’ve lost relationships and friendships about something i can never change.

The song has a deeper meaning. Being able to achieve something and be motivated, even if it's an expression of anger. Atleast that's how I interpreted it when I saw it live yesterday!

Can we please stop hating on people who find songs through tiktok.... Like it's not a problem... I hear a song like this repeatedly on tiktok, it gets in my head, I add it to a playlist and slowly get recommended more songs by the same band or of similar sounds, slowly discovering new great music and artists. I don't think that's a bad thing... Unless you only skip to the 15 that are on tiktok... You need to hear the whole dam song to fully appreciate its amazingness

They dont need to announce it to the world though they seek attention as they get little to non from their parents so they have to get people to know yet nobody wants to know and yet they still get the attention they want
