The actors have aged horribly? Really? Who would have thought that actors in a show that finished 40 years ago would have aged in that time?

I'm 56 and watched the show for years. I still catch the reruns and never get tired of M*A*S*H 4077. I always liked Harry Morgan, Alan Alda, Mike Farrell, Wayne Rogers, William Christopher and Loretta Swit. Jamie Farr always made me laugh. The show is a remarkable show and one that is timeless.

I've watched every episode many times, and at sixty, I still keep watching them over and over when I get the chance. It's the characters and the way they interacted with each other that keeps me coming back to MASH.

One omission is Kellye Nakahara. Yes, the show got preachy. Bound to happen, I guess, for an eleven year run. One of my 'preachy' favorites is the one where the concert pianist has lost his dexterity. Dr. Winchester is highly troubled but finds the wisdom to express that 'gift' was not just is his hand but is in the heart, soul and mind.

Mash debuted in 1972 Alan Alda for instance is 86 years old and still looks good for his age and many of actors including Harry Morgan, David Ogden Stiers, Wayne Rogers, McLean Stevenson, Larry Linville etc have passed away over the years. We all age, I am 36 years old and am I big fan of the show but seen family members including aunts and uncles, parents and my last surviving grandparent who is 89 years old now age and have lost numerous family members including a grandfather and both grandmothers, 2 aunts and 3 uncles.

Hey there. The picture you have of Larry Linville is NOT Larry Linville. The face on the right belongs to the late Ronald G. Clawson who passed away on October 16, 2009. His obituary is online. I knew when I looked at the pic and looked at the face that it was not Larry. His mouth is very distinct and that is not him.

You can drive to the site on which they filmed. It is not an official display but curated by the general public. The area is between two mountain ridges not far from towns in central California.. The most unique aspect the producers considers was overhead electric cables, etc. The area they found, when in the middle of it, definitely casts an aura of a military setting.

The thumbnail of Alan Alda before and after is really misleading. The picture showing him overweight, wearing an old man sweater and getting around with a walker is wrong. The man is still slim and he doesn't use a walker and he still has it together. He is JUST old now

Loved Harry Morgan. He was in "Dragnet". He was also in a movie called "What Did You Do in The War, Daddy?" Made in the 1970s. It was hilarious! Harry's Col. Gets lost in the catacombs in a small Italian town and gets progressively crazier. Look it up.

I remember when Charles came in to the show. I hated him. I hated his character. Then i realized that the reason i hated him so much is that David was so good at playing the character. He completely inhabited that role. And he really was a threat to Pierce.

I saw the original film version directed by Robert Altman with Elliot Gould and Donald Sutherland first time around and it's still in my top ten. The TV version can't be compared, it has none of the sharp set pieces, it is softened, is preachy, 'Holier than thou'. The TV production would blanch at Painless the Dentist's beautifully executed 'suicide' scene though it has taken that accompanying music as the theme tune for the series. Rent or buy the original film it is excellent.

Very true. The TV show lost so much of what the movie was. I remember Loretta Swit saying how much she hated the nickname 'Hot Lips'. It was obvious she had never once seen the movie to learn where that came from.

Yeah, well there were more than just these actors and actress's. Where are the rest? If you're going to do a you tube clip about this, you have to include everyone. There's still at least a dozen more you have mentioned. And, yes it was and still is a fantastic series to have watched on TV. They're still doing reruns on fox classics on foxtel.
