LATAM B787 Landing Easter Island (island exploring and takeoff included)

Great video! Ever since my childhood I've been deeply fascinated by Easter Island/Rapa Nui and its unique history and culture. As far as I know, the airport at Hanga Roa is/was also designated as a potential landing strip for spacecraft by NASA in agreement with the Chilean government - it's long enough for Space Shuttles to safely land. The island also has military significance due to its remote location.

Oh thank god. It’s my dream to visit the Moai and say hi one day but I always pictured a tiny puddle jumper Ryan Air-sized plane taking me there from Chile. Six hours over the ocean in a propeller plane, headed to very small and ancient island is terrifying. I can totally hang out in that nice airplane for several hours without wondering if I’m going to die

only way to get to Easter Island is with LATAM so either from Santiago or Tahiti. Tahiti is probably the closer option for you so the only way to get to Tahiti is through Los Angeles but at that point you could continue down to Santiago. Sadly with Corona around, I don't think its possible to travel to Easter Island (Not sure tho). Hope that helps
