Hearing her voice just rebuilt my confidence. WOW!! They said she can't sing? I'm , classically trained, done tours, backgrounds, solos, etc. However, my peers treated me the way she was treated. My voice is deep and sooo full. Range too. Similar to hers. I deny being able to sing now. Women will strip your confidence if you aren't strong enough. Wow.

She’s a contralto ....this was one of the reasons why the early destiny’s child harmonies sounded full and wholesome .....you can hear her valid contribution....female contractors are not as popular as other vocal types....but with the right song they can undoubtedly shine just as the best of them. On the few episodes of "R&B Divas" that I'd watched, it seemed like she would always avoid having to sing for some reason. That would cause me to doubt that she could sing. Boy, was I wrong! BTW it sounded like they were doing a mash-up of Jill's "The Way" and "Long Walk".

Wow…she definitely could have done well as a soul/neosoul artist, even a Gospel artist …she has a rich voice, all she needed was the right production remand writers who could help choose songs that her vocal abilities stood out on…she doesn’t even need to do a bunch of runs or tricks either… you can tell even just from this clip that she has a strong voice. +Ernest Mines This is not true. LMAO... He said Beyonce came in with the most ability and learned so much quicker than the other girls that she sometimes tutored them. He said Latoya was the 2nd best of the girls behind Beyonce, but he had to teach her to expand her range, because she was so used to always singing in her head voice. He also points out that Beyonce & Latoya were the only two of the girls who were accepted into a prestigious performing arts school in Houston while Kelly was rejected and Latavia didn't even try out. He said Kelly had the most beautiful tone in the group, but he had to work with her on breath control (which she still clearly has problems with) and he said she had the tendancy to go off key. He said he had to spend the most time with Latavia the most because she wasn't a natural singer.She started in the group as a rapper. In fact, when the girls first got signed, Columbia was going to kick Latavia out because they thought a rapper wasn't necessary. Because she was Beyonce's best friend at the time, Beyonce petitioned to have her stay in the group and they gave the vocal coach six months to get her up to shape.

YOU LOOOOOOOVuh!") is what suggests she's pushing. and, as David Brewer (DC's live-in vocal coach during the infamous "boot camps") said, she "was not a singer" period when he began to work with her (she was a rapper/dancer), but he "taught her to sing in tune and yes, she can sing." she just needs some work, as she didn't sing for a LONG time after that and is probably singing at the top of her tessitura here because she NEVER, EVER sung even this high in DC, and the highest note she sung here is a Bb4. additionally, the barometer for being a talented/great vocalist is certainly not having albums available and selling out stadiums just because Beyoncé is and does such. there are plenty of great singers who don't tour and don't release records at all, and there are also plenty of poor singers who do both.
