Yep that bridge was sketchy alright, we just got our first snow fall of the year thinking I might go for a small rip today. The hill climbs always get my heart up to speed also, I think that's why we find them so addictive LOL
@duenorth62769 жыл бұрын
+Metal Gearz OOOoooOOO i love snow wheeling! Go for the ride, record it and share with the rest of us lol. I can't wait till we get a real snow fall on the ground. Although my sport quad buddies probably won't appreciate it like we do. I couldn't agree more with you tho, those steep hill climbs are super addictive (and heart fluttering)! I know on video it never looks quite as bad or steep, but believe me in person they are! lol Thanks for watching bud and Happy New Year.
@ehTV10009 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, camera never does justice as to just how steep they really are. The worst pile we have in our quarry I call pucker hill, if you don't make it to the top you are sure to pucker up tight. lol Cheers!!!

Due North It happens. My second time on an ATV was climbing a steep, rock strewn trail. I wasn't holding the handle bars correctly and about broke my wrist. Had the ATV sideways, me with a seemingly broken hand...all I could do was lean against my ATV so it wouldn't roll down the trail.

Hey Mike another good video, been thinking of maybe picking up a quad this year might be cheaper than bashing the truck up offroad. Need to meet up for a coffee one of these days so I can pick your brain and learn a bit more about it and I do like that the trails are closer to home the one thing I'm not to sure about is it seems like the videos I have looked at on You Tube more damage is done to the trails then we do with the trucks, but the fact that more trails are available is a big plus. Happy New Years man Greg
@duenorth62769 жыл бұрын

Good trails - I was tilting my head when you went under that tree around the 1.5 minute mark - hahaha! I'm not overly crazy about the look of the mirror either, but I agree that the functionality wins out. I like how you have the tool box attached to the back rack - looks good and probably $300 less than a cargo box. Hard to understand you at times over the muffler - lol - you need an external mic wired into your helmet so we can hear what you're saying. Good video. Thanx for sharin'! Happy New Year!

I've been on the fence about installing a mirror myself. Maybe I'll have to get one because they do seem handy at times. And again, I like the sound of your exhaust. The 20 inch light looks good to. That sure looked like some great trails & a great day of rid'in too. Funny how those big old meats just slip on logs ... kinda frustrating at time, eh !! Are you sure that was a bridge ?? Holy Hell !! Looked like fun, Thanks for shar'in the adventure !!
@duenorth62769 жыл бұрын
+GunnyE9 Hey Gunny, if you want a mirror you can buy mine! lol After one trail ride i don't think it'll work for me. Trails are too tight around here and since the handle bars are constantly swivelling from side to side its hard to really see anyone in the mirror. Those logs were super frustrating! all i wanted to do was just be rammy with the quad to get over it but i know as soon as i do that, my luck i'll break something like an axle. :-/ Thats no bridge tho, i have no idea why anyone would set that up much less attempt to cross it. Thanks for watching!

The woods are beautiful and so relaxing when you pull over to take a snack and drink break especially at the top of a large hill overlooking miles of forest, lakes, and rivers. We also have wide straight trails to mix it up a bit and hit the throttle to open them up a little. Do you also have wide trails to up the speed once and a while ?

I wouldn't dare try anything that sketchy, especially with a good 4' drop below.
@Maritimer9 жыл бұрын
Yeah I always liked the raptor, they have good ground clearance for being a "race" bike, even though they are junk on the track haha not hard to tell that the Popo guy was crazy, haha

+Maritimer I can't believe all the places my buddy goes with his Raptor. Makes you think 4x4 isn't required ever unless the circumstances are super extreme. I keep bugging him to get out to the local track to see how his bike will perform tho. I'd like to see him doing some jumps etc.
@Maritimer9 жыл бұрын
yeah the Raptor has good ground clearance (for a sport quad) which is also its downfall on the track, it's also quite a bit heavier then like the 450's.

Can you estimate the angle of the hill you wanted to attach a winch to a tree? I'm brand new to driving atvs and have the exact same one as you. The hills freak me out sometimes and I don't have enough experiance yet to determine something I shouldn't attempt. I see atv tracks up some of them so I figure people must make it up no problem. I know the max is supposed to be a great hill climber.
@duenorth62768 жыл бұрын
+CB15 CB15 The max is most definitely a great climber due to the longer wheelbase. Much more stability and less chance to roll over backwards. That being said, you still need to be aware of just how steep the hill is and you and your quads capability is. I'd say practice smaller hills that are less steep and work your way up from there as you get more comfortable. If you really feel nervous about it, Don't Do it! The alternative is a wrecked quad, possible broken bones and a hit to your ego. We got more than few guys in our group who don't do any of the steep hill climbs because the consequences aren't worth it.
@CB-ug6xh8 жыл бұрын
+Due North I appreciate the advice. Most of the time I'm riding alone so that's part of my hesitation. I think I'm going to join a club so I can ride with some more experianced riders for a while to get more confident.
