Yes that's true. Playful and amusing. Have to say though he never put across any point of view re current affairs and always tried to put himself on the 'centre' of viewpoints. I suspect he's now a rabid catholic and follower of State Capitalist politics (i.e. he'll be a Joe Biden/Democrat Party follower and over here in the UK a Labour Party supporter). I also, despise the crawling attitude of him saying he's... 'an American'. You can also read into his viewpoints by WHO he invites onto his show and the way they're treated.

Like a lot of people, I stumbled upon Craig Ferguson a few years after he left the Late Late Show, he was by far the best talk show host around, in my opinion. Even when other hosts couldn't open their mouths without bashing someone or stating their clueless corporate opinions on politics he held fast to entertainment. Best of luck to you in whatever you are doing now.

This video filled in a long standing missing piece of the puzzle from my childhood. My father took me around Glasgow where he was from including the Kelvingrove Art Gallery (though I'd forgotten the name long ago). What I clearly remember is the feeling of vertigo I had from gazing at that Salvador Dali. There was a feeling of hovering over it, looking down beyond the cross into the void. He got the perspective and the colours so right. I didn't know any of that at the time. I quickly forgot the name of the painting, the artist and the name of the gallery, I was only 10 years old, but never the sensation of getting light headed and falling forward. I'm 66 now. On reflection it impressed upon me why art museums are important. No reproduced print and certainly no image seen on a screen is going to elicit those feelings.

@David Clinging >Thats because you use a simplified dictionary - based on the works of Noah Webster - that amended the language around the start of the 19th century. Or a more modern one. Words change over time. "Teetotalism is the practice or promotion of complete personal abstinence from alcoholic beverages. A person who practices (and possibly advocates) teetotalism is called a teetotaler (plural teetotalers) or is simply said to be teetotal. The teetotalism movement was first started in Preston, England, in the early 19th century.[1] The Preston Temperance Society was founded in 1833 by Joseph Livesey, who was to become a leader of the temperance movement and the author of The Pledge: "We agree to abstain from all liquors of an intoxicating quality whether ale, porter, wine or ardent spirits, except as medicine."[2]" BTW, the point was that pedant ism bites both ways, professor. I'm willing to bet we spell many words differently than we did in the 19th century. Now, did we want to discuss 'colour' as opposed to 'color'?
@Mike_LaFontaine754 жыл бұрын
@David Clinging >The fact that the words have continued unchanged in the rest of the English speaking word, and that they did not naturally evolve, even in the US, means that it can’t be considered a natural development. The fact is, that the word HAS changed in the rest of the English world. The whole first page of a word search spells it as 'teetotaler' My link spelled it as 'teetotaler'. >The word is teetotaller, The word WAS teetotaller in the 19th century, it is now teetotaler. Note, the spelling auto correction is showing 'teetotaller' as incorrect, while 'teetotaler' is left as is. Now, go powder your wig, professor.
