This was another good evening of herring fishing in late February. I got to fish with some cool fun people such as Justin from Magnolia Pier Bait & Tackle, Steve, John, and "Mr. T".

This depends on many factors such as weather, but most of the time, the herring tend to be more active around sunrise or sundown. There are currently no limits for atlantic herring in NY.

You do realize that this is a public fishing pier right and not a "secret spot"? Everyone knows about the pier, and there is a tackle shop that posts frequent updates online for customers. Thank you 😊

@@RafSowiOutdoors I do realize it's a public fishing peir but you are totally not getting the point of my comment.Just because it's not a secret spot and it's open to the public does not mean you can't burn that spot.Guys such a yourself that have there own KZbin page continuously put these videos out stating exactly when and where you are fishing fishing and what fish your catching .And people see this and they go down there with 15 Hooks on one line,which is absolutely absurd I mean how greedy can you get and it's illegal ,D.E.C regulations says 5 Hooks max but they ignore the law as usual and fish with it recklessly not looking when they csst then they cause non stop tangles and people lose rigs when they should not.They leave garbage all over the peir which I also find ridiculous considering there are multiple garbage cans throughout the peir.Fishing ethics don't exist down there when a certain element occupies that peir.I seen a.couple take multiple coolers full of herring at a time and if they had more coolers they would take more I mean how much herring can you possibly need it's just greed.You and other guys that film there are not helping with anything whatsoever.The only thing you are helping is exploitation of the fishery and furthering your channel.When you go on Joeys boat this season makes a video evrytime and say what reef your at and give the numbers of the fishfinder since nobody own the ocean.i highly doubt he will be ok with.You are doing the exact same thing but on land.Listen I was told your a friendly guy and I'd probably get along with you of I came off like a dick my apologies it was not my intentions but this is definitely a subject i feel strong about and in my opinion have seen these spots and the overall fishery suffer.Good luck this season Raf maybe I'll see you out there Tight Lines.

Bro shut up got get a job at the D.E.C you are acting like you own the pier you are grumpy for no reason people come out here in the freezing cold for hours to catch fish and most of us have a fishing channel so let everyone be and enjoy life I don’t believe you are mad over a public fishing pier smh

@Brendan Smith I understand your concerns and agree with some of what you say as well as I see it myself. I would not compare fishing on a private charter with a public pier. And I am mindful where I film or not, not showing landmarks when surfcasting or on private charters. See you around and tight lines! 😊
