I'm going to keep suggesting it until it catches on. Instead of Dramedy, reverse the Portmanteau: Coma.

yes i think this phrases my experience with it very well. it was pretty good but there was room to be better. sharper. something about the last part, where it was trying to have a sentimental sort of ending kind of lost me a little, but otherwise it was perfectly fine.

I will see anything with Emma Thompson in it because I love her, but this sounds not as good as I'd hoped. Edit (9th June) - I went to see it and really enjoyed it. Emma was marvellous, as always.

I only watched for Thompson and did not expect much. So it was a nice surprise that I actually enjoyed it. Way better than I remember The Devil Wears Prada (the nearest comparison I can 🤔) being and I laughed twice which is an awful lot for me with this type of film.

I don't know of anyone. I guess Ellen Degeneres may have the daytime one but I don't watch her show. As far as I know, all the late night hosts are male and always have been. It would be nice to be wrong though.

Mindy Kaling really loves to announce how funny and brilliant she is. There’s nothing quite as hilarious as maintaining a constant underlying air of smug self-satisfaction. It’s comedy rule number one in my book.

Why do reviewers tell way too much of the plot? Maddening - we just want to know if it’s good or not

Because critics want to explore and discuss the movie -- if you want to know if it's good or not, go on Roger Ebert, and look at whether there's a thumbs up.

@@brianeduardo1234 You have to remember that the plot of a movie is still important to any analysis of it - you'd probably be better watching the review afterwards, and treating it like literary criticism (as a supplement to the text) if you're that concerned about knowing the plot. Asking a critic to cut out any detailed discussion of one of the biggest, most important parts of a movie is just kind of pointless in the end. Criticism needs to be holistic.
