I'm glad I wasn't the only one that got creeped by the skeleton guy in the audience. There was something very eerie about him. When I saw this in the cinema I was the whole time expecting him to be a demon in a Halloween costume or something.

YES I wanted him to be something! but I also get that older costumes were generally just creepier than they are now lol

I think in general he was meant to represent death. But I do have a theory that he/they/it was the actual Death waiting in the audience and biding his time waiting for the show to drop to start collecting souls.

@@TheLastHylianTitan Maybe it was supposed to be as you say. I wish we had another lowkey tense moment with that skeleton guy. I've always liked the idea of representing Satan/demons in a human yet not-so-human way, if that makes sense. The terror for he occult in plain sight.

Imagine people sitting at home watching this and just see it cut to stand by and is just saying to themselves " guess we're not getting that sequel😐"

When the little girl said to him, "Oh you are going to be so famous by the end of tonight", or something like that & i connected it to the sequence of him kind of going through his own personal h*ll and signing that deal. I took it as him feeling so guilty on the inside for the deal he made and actually going through with the interview when he could've stopped it at various points - the devil played in his mind the entire night and convinced him to actually go on a spree for the fame he desperately desired from the interview.

So he got his fame.. but at a very huge and insane cost that he could probably never come back from & I do feel that the spirit that was inside of the little girl is now inside of him

The skeptic character was based off of James Randi, a magician who challenged anyone to provide proof of anything paranormal and he'd pay them $1mil. James wasn't an ass like the skeptic in the movie, and he also actually showed how these con-artists performed their tricks but was still respectful to them.

@@HighlyHorrifiedReactions I just get the sense with younger people that they want to make something seem more distant and dramatic than it really is. People often dramatize things for personal bias to make it seem weird and out of touch with reality and I can't help but hear that when a lot of people talk about the 1970s, or the 1950s, or the 19-- etc. Same idea as a kid rolling their eyes at their parents for bringing up something old to them. You start thinking that they are purposely wanting to call them out because of the strong desire to be modern in what many claim is the "current mindset" concept. This doesn't really relate to your reaction, but I kind of always feel the quiet "oh my gosh what a silly time" aspect.
