I am amazed that horror movies with Australian casts/producers e.g. (Talk to Me, Evil Dead Rise) and this potential movie are much better than the ones done in Hollywood.

It has been really interesting and honestly quite refreshing and nice. Australian movies have largely been quite bad for decades and the horror genre was no different. It’s only been in the past 5 years or so that we are starting to get real quality releases. Late Night with the Devil definitely belongs with these quality releases that take some risks and feel interesting and unique within the horror genre.

It’s so worth the watch, it definitely goes in plenty of interesting directions. I’m pretty keen to check it out again.

Im sooo excited for this movie. The director of Lake Mungo is part of Production so you know its gonna be great.

It really was excellent and the production value was top notch. The imagery that this film presents will be very hard to forget.

This is also a remake I read recently. A film called History the Occult I'm sure? Or at least inspired.

Just saw the trailer for that movie and I would say it’s heavily inspired. Thinking back on the Q & A with the directors they mentioned that ghost watch was an inspiration for this film. Also they said the protagonist was inspired by late night host Don Lane, as someone who wasn’t from that era I could still see some similarities to modern hosts like Jimmy Kimmel.

Tidy review, fella. We saw it last Friday at Sun Theatre in Yarraville. The brothers are appearing at Sun on 14 April for Q & A after a second screening. If I wasn't working I'd be there for that with bells on. It's one of those films that my partner and I have been discussing a different aspect of each and every day since we saw it. The last film that did that for us was the English film Host (2020).

Thank you so much. The directors definitely gave a lot of insight in my Q and A. So many smaller details I hadn’t noticed until they brought it up and it was cool to know where they got their inspiration from. It’s awesome to hear that you and your partner enjoyed the movie. It was a pretty similar scenario with me and my fiancé we were both so excited after seeing this movie and knowing nothing about it beforehand. I haven’t seen Host yet it’s been on my radar for a while. I’m sure I’ll check it out at some point.

Thank you so much!! I think Shudder is probably the perfect place for this to release. I think it will be a huge hit on that platform when it releases because it’s just so good and is perfect for that audience. I look forward to hearing what you think when you see it!!

I’m part of the cult, this film is GREAT. I saw this last Thursday (opening night I think?) on a whim because I love Dastmalchian and thought it was a cool concept. Just… WOW. I’ve tried dragging my friends along to see it again, but they’re avoiding it because it’s in the “horror” genre. Luckily my Dad loves horror movies and has used Shudder in the past, so I get to go again with him this evening!

That’s awesome to hear how much you enjoyed it!! Watching this movie I had no expectations at all and for me I saw it months ago but so many scenes stuck out so clearly to me. Can’t wait to check this out every Halloween now.

Watching back videos about LNWTD again. I also agree and thought the same, so glad David is finally getting a lead role. And this seems so perfect for him. Ive seen a leaked clip he interviews the girl talking about how she calls ghe demon Mr wiggles, his character is so on point. 😊

He is truly phenomenal in the role, I can’t wait to hear what you think about the movie when you see it. The demonic stuff is really interesting and is utilised in a way that you don’t see too often. I wish I could go into further detail but I don’t want to spoil anything for you.

Seriously? It is an OK B-grade movie. It has a few good points, but more serious flaws.

Yes it has some B movie tropes but it feels like it knows that and exceeds at being just a really fun, stylish horror movie. Sure it’s not like some horror masterpiece like Hereditary and I don’t think it’s trying to be. But It is something that I found so interesting and fun and I can’t wait to watch it again next Halloween.

@@kaneeddy We have to agree to disagree! I don't think David Dastmalchian is the slightest bit credible as a late show host, and not even a failing one. Christou's act was over-the-top in being bad, whilst Carmichael Haig's mass hypnosis was over-the-top in being good. It was all very clunky! But I give the movie 10/10 for being innovative in concept.
