Lets not forget the slider Thorson pulled on Axsom at Beloit. Thorson slid it and drug his whole take tank against the front end of Axsom. Seavey checked up to try to turn it under the lap car and Axsom was already up top. The only the Axsom could've don't was slammed on the breaks and he shouldn't have to do that. Seavey shouldve slid the lapper to avoid any contact with Axsom

I don't know if its because we do things differently in New Zealand or I'm just uneducated on the American scene but can someone explain to me how Emersons move was not dodgy cause straight away I thought it was but a lot of the comments say otherwise and the commentators will never point a finger for whatever reason. It wasn't dodgy. Emerson committed to the corner like he did the lap before, but this time Logan went in sharper to go underneath the lapped car coming out of two and Emerson had nowhere to go. It sucks for Logan, and I'm sure Emerson didn't want to win like that, but it was just a racing incident. There was nothing deliberate in it, otherwise Emerson would have tried doing him in the lap before as well.

@@yeahnahyeah honestly the quickest and best explanation I can give you for us Motorsports is the term "rubbing is racing". @@yeahnahyeah not sure what you're talkin about in the the b-main I didn't see any of the races but "slide jobs" or. dive-bombs" are regularly accepted on American dirt track racing. A lot of drivers will see it coming in when they see somebody zip along the bottom they'll just lift and do what's called a crossover. Pretty sure that's considered rude in a lot of road racing scenes.

In the end lappers are part of the track. You're responsible for race management and in the end you should be able to dispatch lapped cars quickly with a minimum time spent. Sure, there are times when no matter what you do you'll lose time and positions. To blame the lapper is the easy way out and I'm not sure I'd use that excuse/explanation when you just won a national midget event. Been on both ends of things, been a lapper and been the guy putting a lap on another racer. About the only thing I would say is keep running your race. Maintain your speed and maintain your line so you're not making any foolish moves that will get your run over. That's it from this old retired racer.

I cannot understand the bump and dump style of driving so prevalent in midget racing today. Very bush league. Whatever happened to clean side by side wheel to wheel racing where drivers would go lap after lap inches apart without touching. Seems that many of today’s drivers have equipment that is way beyond their talent level and their mental capacity to win without wrecking themselves or others. Used to go to Angell Park in Sun Prairie every Sunday night and watch incredibly talented drivers race each other clean and hard.
