You were on 🔥🔥🔥. Awesome day of fishing. Could not believe you still caught nice butts during this time. The shark gave you a great fight. Safe fishing.

Right?! Seems pretty late to be catching these fish, guess it’s because we haven’t had any rain 🤷♂️

Just my opinion, I think thresher fights harder and tastes better. Wish you caught that one!
@KayakFishingwithMatt4 жыл бұрын
You prefer thresher meat over WSB meat? Last thresher I caught tasted similar to swordfish, I’ve heard WSB tastes like crab/lobster!
@eksblenny4 жыл бұрын
@@KayakFishingwithMatt I agree on thresher tasting like swordfish. I do NOT agree with WSB tasting like crab or lobster. WSB to me is almost indistinguishable from striper. It's pretty dense and chewy. It actually tastes a bit sweet when raw, which I like, but that goes away once you cook it =( I would say cab or ling tastes much more like crab or lobster.
@KayakFishingwithMatt4 жыл бұрын
@@eksblenny gotcha, that’s a bummer because I’m not a fan of striper but I guess I’ll just have to try it for myself one day. I think vermillion tastes and has texture most similar to crab/lobster out of the fish I’ve tried so far. Honestly, I would have probably released the thresher, it’s just so much meat and an endeavor to clean 😂

@@KayakFishingwithMatt i hooked one thresher salmon trolling last year, all i saw was the tail and he dove, i made the mistake of buttoning down my avet just a hair and my leader snapped :( i think it rubbed on his cheek and broke when i added tension. NEVER TOUCH THE DAMN DRAG
