During this Coronavirus era in our life I am greatful to God to have skills to grow food and prepare meals from old fashioned way. I tried to tell folks over past couple years to learn to grow food and can because of global warming and is healthier and fresher. They looked at me like I had 2- heads. @PlantSmartLivingNOW6 жыл бұрын
Adding alfalfa pellets to your garden is always a win-win situation… they add additional nutrients to your soil! You can use them for your asparagus beds and add them anytime of the year because they are slow release nutrients!

Hi Fred :) how should i use my alfalfa pellets when preparing a new garden bed? Should i crush them first or soak them and use as a tea? Also can i just mix it into the soil? Thanks and hope you are doing well! :)
@PlantSmartLivingNOW4 жыл бұрын
Hi guany, we are doing very well here thanks, with your alfalfa pellets you could mix them into your existing soil around the plants, or you could make alfalfa tea which would be a liquid fertilizer which would probably feed your plants much quicker.

I have read that you use a considerable amount of leaf compost amended with top soil. Is this delivered leaf compost amended with the top soil by the supplier or do you amend it after arrival at your farm? I wonder if you would kindly share the mix of leaf compost & top soil--if you do the mixing what is the brand of top soil you use? I live in New Mexico and the soil here is lava based and basically of poor quality. I do have the ability to make plenty of leaf compost so that is not a problem. Thank you for any info you may be able to provide regarding this matter. Don
