Thank you for placing The Night Sky where we can see what to and how to observe objects in the sky. Although I have some knowledge, during 55 years of simultaneously working three career professions, while also attending higher education classes, knowing and enjoying astrology was something I didn't want to find on a "bucket" list. Thank you for providing a foundation of readily understandable reference and guidance. Sandra Kay, Old Point Comfort, Hampton, Va.

I am still quite new to astronomy and using a 6 inch Dobsonion. I had great success with the early morning planets in May and I have produced amazing photos that rival what I have seen with larger scopes. I am in a bortle 5 zone but I'm having a very hard time finding galaxies and nebulae that were supposed to be present in all of May using simple sky hopping. I am hoping I'll have better luck this month as I am not ready to give up. Your videos continue to inspire. Thank you and clear skies!

A 6 inch Dob will serve you well forever. I use a 4 inch more than my 10 inch. A 2x barlow and a few filters are good early additions. Stick with it, the rewards will be worth it.

Thanks so much for saying that! nothing better than a dobsonian for observing the night sky.

The sky just isn’t dark enough in June and the night is so short. I won’t be observing again until August arrives

Unfortunately, from my latitude, which is 57° N, the night sky season has ended a little less than a month ago, because it doesn't get fully dark during the night. It will return in late August. But I'm excited for the noctilucent clouds in June. Last year, I could see them almost every day in June. To everyone who will enjoy the Milky Way season this summer, I wish you good luck and clear skies!

Saw all 8 planets plus the moon yesterday morn, using 10x50 binoculars.

Nice work! I was able to spot 4 of them lined up with the Moon a few times this week.

Too bad it is rainy season here in the Philippines. Cloudy skies almost every night(sigh) Better luck until the rainy season ends.😁

Here's hoping those clouds move away sooner rather than later!

The only problem I have is that I'm from Brooklyn and the lights make it hard to see (except) for the moon
@LateNightAstronomy2 жыл бұрын
Light pollution is a major problem for most people. When the planets swing back around to the evening sky late summer/early fall you could get some views of those.

You know I saw all the 7 planets with my telescope, I saw Neptune on May 18 when it was in Conjunction with the red planet. So, I basically have just seen all 7 planets not including Pluto since my telescope is too small.
@LateNightAstronomy2 жыл бұрын
We are in the same boat. Pluto is the only planet I haven't viewed as well.
I was out, but it was hazy so I only saw about 3 that were quite bright and orangish yellow.
@LateNightAstronomy2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but sadly I only saw two in about 20 minutes.
