Great lesson David! I've been listening to TSO foe quite a few years but just saw them live for the first time last month. Hell of an impressive show. The musicians were all outstanding. My wife is the farthest thing from a hard rock fan, but even she enjoyed it. If you search YT, you'll find a video of Joel Hoekstra in DC sitting in front of the Office of the Speaker of the House playing O Come All Ye Faithful on an acoustic.

The true Phantom of the Opera in TSO. (Mr. Brewster, I chide you - you have earned your coal. mentioning Savatage is not enough, Unless you can enlighten those to the following.) - Criss Oliva's, regrettably postmortem influence; And living on through all guitarists involved in the TSO project. Additionally, Jon's composition behind the scenes, but understandable, inability to be physically involved likely due to the loss of Criss. Must be mentioned in any reference to TSO. It's Criss' playing a full step down - D standard, for you philistines. Tasteful and yet not overdone ala' (those, we shall not have any need to name here) classical styling, operatic themes and Jon's theatrical compositions. Criss, the ghost of a Christmas past, and gift when he was present and leaving a grim future ahead, for any substitution of the man. TSO was born at a cost. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE. Be festive and responsible. And take no more from us. ~ Respectfully: A survivor of the 80-90's and D standard tuner at the time (and often now). Study Criss' playing. But bring your big boy pants. You've been warned.
