He speaks like he is writing out a script for what he has to say...so he speaks out all the subtexts, brackets open, brackets close etc. Most writers who spend excessive amounts of time writing out their thoughts in quirky narratives, end up speaking like they are reading from their well-edited journals, I guess.

He kind of sounds like a 1920's radio announcer, or a spoof of one, with the melodic cadence. I love it, could listen to it all day. It's charming, enchanting. He could make anything, a printer instruction manual, sound interesting.

Salieri only became famous in musical history because of his jealousy and hatred for Mozart because his own music was bad and forgettable.

KZbinName it’s self-deprecating humor. A lot of new parents will play Mozart for their young or in utero children in hopes that the kid will grow up to be a creative genius like Mozart. In the movie Amadeus, F Murray Abraham portrays Salieri as a jealous mediocre composer who obsesses over his friendly rival Mozart who is younger, talented, and successful.

It's not for 'no reason' - F. Murray Abraham won the Best Actor Oscar in 1985 for his portrayal of the composer Antonio Salieri in the movie Amadeus, which was a about the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (though the story was somewhat exaggerated/fictionalized).
