Are we discussing Catholicism, or Scientology? ;) My point is that you can dislike an institution without disliking its constituents. To my knowledge, she's never proselytized, so I have a hard time caring about her personal beliefs. I can enjoy an incredibly talented actor's work and public persona without getting my panties in a bunch over whatever she thinks or does in her private life. Like any cult they hold leverage over you if you want to leave. Their _auditing_ pressures scientologists to share their deepest darkest secrets which the Church has used for blackmail and harassment. Because three generations of her family are in the Church they will be ordered to shun her if she leaves and face punishment.

I mean isn’t that their tactic? Seem normal & relatable, as if they’re not scheming to get others to join & give up a majority of their income to their “cause”? If you go in hard about your beliefs, people dismiss you immediately. If you appear as normal as Moss, people get interested & are willing to give it a pass.

@@alextacy21 Yeah it is a cult but why does every 2nd comment tells us she is a Scientologist, who cares
@alextacy214 жыл бұрын
Ciaran Flynn I get it but it’s something that has to be addressed this is a cult that ruins people’s lives, holds people hostage, makes people go broke, and the main guy in Scientology his wife has been missing or not seen in years. I didn’t think much of it before but when I watched Leah Remini’s show I was shocked at how this is something no one is talking about or trying to stop. Elisabeth can’t even criticize her own “religion” like I can because they’ll make her family disconnect with her. I get what you’re saying but I only replied because you said who cares about Scientology and I think it’s something that should be on topic. It’s not a religion and the only reason why it’s seen as one is because they basically blackmailed and harassed the IRS into making them be taxed exempt like any other religions.
@ciaranflynn13974 жыл бұрын
@@alextacy21 Understand all that, ive watched all the documentaries myself including Leah Remini, read all the books including Miscaviges niece, I agree with everything but nobody forces anyone to join it, fair enough some were born in to it. Every video with Elizabeth Moss every 2nd comment is "she is a scientoligist" my point is ...... we know, its boring now and will do nothing to address it. If people join who cares, more fool them.
