It's hard for me to stay up late enough to watch Seth, which makes me very sad. My elderly mother is the same. A Closer Look is seriously one of her favorite things in the entire universe. I truly appreciate being able to send her the link every night so she doesn't have to make herself take a nap around this time so she can make herself stay up late to watch. She's almost 79 and has some health issues so she needs her rest. This KZbin channel is helping me stay sane. Seth Meyers is the spoonful of sugar that makes current events easier to deal with.

At this point most Americans seem to treat elections like a team sport. They vote by the color of the jersey, not because of competence or policy proposals. A news commentator mentioned the Speaker election was “difficult due to the diversity of the Republican Caucus.” Yes, so diverse: almost all white men with political leanings from right wing to completely authoritarian (looking at you, Gym Jordan).
