Well.. You won't get any genuine-insight into it, given that the show was already in a quasi-mockumentary format and hence - doesn't do flashbacks but.. Worse, it has grown into a self-parody by this season. But if you genuinely do want, I may recommended at least 1 episode from the 1st season( alongwith a must-read of critical-reception towards it).

I’m born and raised and lived my whole life in LA, so you know, you see Steven Spielberg (repeatedly) or David Bowie and companions at Starbucks, and you don’t say a thing, and you don’t bring any attention to them. That’s the beauty of being famous and living here. However, my boyfriend is Scottish, and in December 2019, just having finished watching season 2, we were at his tailor in Edinburgh, and Brian Cox walks in. I thought I was going to die. The b/f comes out of the other room and I can’t even breathe, let alone speak, and I’m like, “Brian Cox … thbtfthy!” And under his breath, he’s like, “Calm down! You’re embarrassing me!”. I had to go outside in order to catch my breath.

Cox has the same approach to acting as Laurence Olivier. Cox's Hannibal Lector was far better and scarier than Hopkins'. No insult to Anthony Hopkins, who is one of The best actors of our times; but his depiction was essentially Dracula, rather than a serial killer. Cox's portrayal (which is in only a couple of scenes in the original Manhunter TV movie) is cold, devoid of any interest in the humanity of the person in front of him. It's far more chilling, because while Hopkins' Lector is memorable, it's because it's overly theatrical and flamboyant. Cox's Lector was more real, like an actual psychopath, someone who would kill you without blinking.

I didn’t like that article and I usually love the New Yorker. It was truly designed as a piece that would hit Jeremy Strong. I guess it did succeed in that everybody’s talking about it and several stars have had to come to Strong’s defense.

I loved Brian Cox in RED. I want to see a RED3 film, not a TV show. Remember Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson in DIE HARD (3): WITH A VENGENCE was just as good as the original; who cares if DH2 was tripe. If RED3 added Jackson to the mix, maybe throw in Tyler Perry, we could have infinite RED possibilities.

That was a great interview! He's an actor (and so was Seth once; watch "Journey to the Center of the Earth" which is why Seth likes to do impressions all the time because he thinks he's an actor still or he's just acting to be a TV show host in his mind, ANYWAY) and really should ask them how they approach their work. I have been an extra in two TV shows and the down time was incredibly boring as they set the scene. One show I was in was only like 2-3 minutes in the show, but it took a whole day to do. I watched some of the outtakes of making Harry Potter and some scenes with just the number of people involved had to had been mind-boggling. I can understand when he talks about the difference between TV and movies.
