2 Questions- 1.) Do uni years count towards citizenship? Like if someone does a master's from Germany then will those 2 years be counted? 2.) Let's say after 3 years we applied for the passport. Then how long will it take from that time to actually get the passport in our hand? Because I've heard lots of bad stuff about the foreign office and bureaucracy in Germany

I can answer question no.1 . Once you get the work visa , 50 percent of years spent in uni will be counted , like in your case 1 year will be counted towards naturalization

Hey i have heard about the new law that you can get citizenship only in 5 years. I'm planning to come to Germany next year after my school so i will apply for STUDIENKOLLEG so to finish my bachelor's it will take a total of 4 years. i just want to know will that 4 years be counted to get citizenship? or do i have to work in Germany additional 5 years?

Its about living here on appropriate residence permit (for e.g. Blue card, PR any other form of RP)

That part is still not 100% clear but I will check the draft again and get back to you. But my assumption is education has to be done here in Germany & only the time spent while making social security contributions will be counted in 3 years. I will still confirm!

You would've to drop Indian Citizenship

India does not provide dual citizenship so even though Germany has now allowed, India won't allow it. So you would have to give up Indian citizenship to grab hold of a German passport.
