Seen something similar at Seremban Malaysia. The build up was fast but the end products shows hair line cracks where the walls joined and some who bought those houses and stayed there told me that when there is a heavy rainstorm for around a day or so the walls feel damp. Not sure if its because the man contractor tried to cut corners and use cheaper material and bad workmanship or its the original material fault.

Yes. Bare concrete will do this. It is porous. But it may be condensation, not seepage, they are experiencing. Also, Concrete is strong, but will last longer if it has proper protection.

1. It wasn’t in America so a lot less regulation 2.they probably didn’t have any layer of insulation which is required if you want your concrete house to last and also if you want it insulated 😅

Zach Phillips the framing they used was most likely aluminum studs. Which are better than wood framming,but it's still has it's down side. They should have used some rebar to and it would be a lot better supported.

They did. Also, proper concrete doesn't need steel anyway.(gasp) yes it's true. Concrete is an actual science. It can take a lifetime to learn all the tricks and mixes.

Obviously no pilings. No need to dig out a basement. Asians see little need for one. It's built/ spread over solid ground. Cheap though. So it's not a system to be used on marshy land.

It's well anchored. Your comment is more applicable to concrete construction form the 80s. There are tons of concrete houses in South America, and Japan that are much more seismically active than here.

there are over 15,000 earthquakes every year in nz also, japan also gets hit by the ocean as an after effect too, i would rather not live in a paper house, nz has earthquake proof high rises also, auckland city get 4 earthquakes daily, just feels like a truck driving past, you would even notice that the skytower is moving... in 2011 japan was recording magnitudes of 9..... at 32km depth and deeper nz was recording only 6.3, but at 5km depth, big difference on how the earthquake hits, i'd prefer the bigger amount of space moving than the rippling effect of shallow earthquakes, ive experienced many in nz, indonesia, and america, being in a boat on a tsunami is scary ;)
