We had started from Bangalore on a Friday, reached Bangkok in the dark and after some hustle will food and water and a decently moderate layover we flew to Bali. As soon as we flew from Bangkok we were greeted with one of the most stunning sunrises of our lifetime in mid air.
Just before we reached Bali, the nature God decided to shower the shores of Bali to cool down the ambience and the clouds were flying away. So we faced some nerve wrecking turbulence just before landing and which gave us a stunning coastline view of Bali an soon as we came out of the clouds.
After we landed we did our immigration and took a cab from the airport straight to our abode for the next 4 days in Ubud, The Sungu Resort and Spa.
After freshening up we strolled to the Ubud market and arranged for scooty, exchanged currency, got an activated sim, did first forex card transaction and we were ready to embark on a stunning journey.

Thanks for your valuable comment. Yes you can carry ready to eat stuff but in check in luggage. About getting vegetarian food, yes you can find but its a bit less in options in comparison to non-veg. Local roadside stores it will be tough, but a proper restaurant will have enough veg options.

Regarding your query, there have been few cases of scam related to car bookings, so it is best to ask for cabs in the hotel or if your first destination is Ubud you can go to Ubud market and book cabs from cab booking stores only, not from people roaming around with pamphlets. Same can be done for Nusa Penida trip as well.

I am first time travelling internationally so this might be dumb question for u, My niyo global credit card is on the way, so there are ATMs everywhere in bali right including airport as well, so what if I take cash from ATMs using niyo global card? It says zero forex markup fees means let's say 1mil IDR is around 5450 inr so if I have FD amount of 5500 which will be my ATM withdrawal limit of Niyo card so I can take 1mil IDR from ATM right? without any extra charges? As offline cash converter will have different rates mostly lower compare to original value. (Either above or I am planning to take $) so isn't that ATM thing is advisable ? or what will be the main use of niyo global SBM bank credit card?

You have very valid question, so I would recommend to carry both 50-50, as in dollars as well as niyo card, as you will find daily withdrawal limits at multiple atms. Yes Bali has ample atms, but in the main city areas, like Ubud, Canggu, Kuta. Rest you will be able to find but the number is very less. In Nusa Penida island they only have 9 atms. And if you are using niyo card to withdraw money, target BNI atms, niyo card works there, rest of the atms its very inconsistent.

About your query, there is no mandate as such to carry USD, but you cant pay with any card at the immigration counter as well as they have a list of acceptable currencies at the counter where INR is not accepted. So its preferable to carry USD as you get the best conversation rate for it.

Yes, we did travel through Don Murng Airport. So our layover was for 2 hrs and be rest assured if you are carrying only hand baggages during layover, you will easily make it to your next flight. Although, the immigration gate for international transfer is a bit small, you can get some congestions there. So my suggestion would be to not spend more than 30 minutes before the immigration. Our flight was a late night/early morning flight so, for us the immigration counter was almost empty. Now regarding the luggage, ideally your luggage should be internally transferred, we traveled with only hand baggages, so I really can’t confirm on this, you might have to check at the Chennai check-in counter. Having said that we didn’t see anyone doing the immigration and check-in with luggage. And about food, yes you can find vegetarian food but the options are less, you will get McDonalds in the airport, so that will get you sorted for food.

Firstly we thank you for your support. So as soon as you do your immigration and clear the customs, you will find few departmental stores, just after you clear that area, you will be directed to cab booking counters by the official airport authorities. You can counter them by showing the price in the Grab or Gojek apps. And make sure you book the cabs from the airport premises. After you exit the airport the experience has been mostly bad for cabs, that is what I came to know from a few fellow travellers. We hope this video and information was helpful to you. When we paid for our Visa on Arrival charges, they returned the balance amount in IDR, that helped us with the cab, else you can use your forex card to pay, or convert a small denomination of USD to IDR from airport to pay for the cab, or you can ask your hotel to provide cab service from airport so that you can pay at the hotel in IDR after you have converted USD from a conversion center. I believe there are 2 ways to counter this situation. 1. We can carry some dry food items like cakes, biscuits, some savoury items and carry an empty bottle and fill it up after you have cleared your security from airports water dispensers and 2. we can try to get small denominations of USD so that the change in Thai Baht is not a huge amount, and the changed amount can be used to buy small stuffs like a fridge magnet or chocolates or get a bottle of water and then use that bottle to refill from the transit airport. @@Mr.ndMrs.onthemove Just returned from bali... I asked hotel staff about driving licence, they said usually most of the foreigners don't have international driving licence. Just wear a helmet and follow traffic rules. No one asked me about the licence there. Also no one checked about the tourist tax.

I personally feel its not a good idea, given that in Indonesia that is the peak rainy season. But in my experience Bali gets very intense rainfall but in short batches .

Dekha jaye toh thoda to problem hoga, waha english sab se zada chalta hai aur hindi ya for Indian aur koe bhasha unko ata nehi. Aap thoda basic sikh lijiye jaise ‘kinta price hai’ , ‘kitna dur hai’ yeh sab. Waise aap google translator use kar sakte ho hindi to balinese k liye .

O Jo 7 kg cabin luggage hai Usme trolley size Kiya allow hai?

42.5 x 26.5 x 67 cm, this was our trolley size. Aur is bag me 7-9 kg se zada ka samaan fit bhi nehi baithega I guess. Waise koe specific size mentioned hai nehi by the airline. Hope this helps.
