The global travel restrictions imposed because of the Covid pandemic has left many portraitists and painters of the legendary Place du Tertre struggling to survive. In spite of the dire situation, The town council is pushing ahead with plans to re-organize the artists' square, reducing the number of authorized artists and revising selection methods.The restaurants have over-run the little square,leaving painters literally working in the gutters.With their backs to the wall the artists have now raised funds to hire legal aid.
