Any news on the Republican IDR plan proposal? I heard the criteria for forgiveness might be based on total amount owed and the interest that would have been paid on the 10 year plan, but at a pace similar to PAYE payments. If so, this does offer a quicker forgiveness path than PAYE for me (about 17 years instead of 20 by my estimate), and allows lowering AGI strategies to pay back a nominal dollar amount with more inflated dollars later while investing. That also means it's effectively lowering interest rates. Not necessarily the worst plan in the world, and it would basically leave that plan and IBR 2014 as the main options.

If i am not eligible for PAYE because i borrowed in 2006 and do not make enough money to be on ICR, what do I do when the SAVE plan goes away? Right now I am cannot be on PSLF

You most likely CAN do ICR, but if not, you can do IBR.
