Well, it is going to be really cold to spend a night at Chandratal during those days. Plus make sure to check the weather before traveling between Manali - Chandratal - Kaza. Bad weather can get you stranded now in the middle of nowhere without much stay options or help.. In just 3 days, it will be very tiring experience but if you still want, you can do Manali to Kaza Kaza rest day, may be visit Ki-kibber Kaza to Chandratal to Manali subject to weather being clear.

Hmm.. Well Leh to Nubra roads are fine except few kms near Khardung La and then Khardung La PAss to Khardung Village some double laning work going on. Leh to Pangong Lake also broken only few kms around Chang La Pass... Major update between Leh Pangong is that last many kms between Durbuk and Pangong Lake is not well tarred which was earlier broken. So, most road conditions are good. Finally if you are taking Nubra to Pangong direct route, then it is all broken mostly and kind of offroad.

Well, you can travel up there in your own car but lakes will be pretty cold and stay options may or may not have wrapped up by then.. usually by end of September they pack up. Stay will be limited to Homestays in nearby villages in such a case and it is better because homestays will be warmer then temporary tents you get up there. However, since it is homestay, expect very limited facilities.

It is going to be pretty late and cold during that time of the year with limited options of stay on these routes.. make sure you 100% check weather when traveling on remote routes to about getting stuck.. how are you planning to return? Manali Leh?

@@discoverwithdheeraj I live in Canada , so cold is not an issue for me 😂😂last April during my Lahaul tour I went till Darcha , after that Road was closed because of snow. so I travelled in this route , Also except zanskar I have experience of travelling to all the other parts of Ladakh and Spiti (including road trip from Srinagar to Leh during last week of September crossing zozila at night in between a snowfall. Though we had our local Kashmiri friend with us who was driving) . So we will try to make the plan for 2nd week of October, but before that probably not possible. Can it be possible to include Tso moriri at that time and what should be the return route ?

@neelanjanaroy3765 sure bhai if you already have experience and traveled up there so it is OK as you understand the risks.. regarding Tso Moriri, I again wont suggest Manali Leh route after October 15 so the only option is to reach Leh then plan two day trip to Tso Moriri and then from Leh return via Srinagar Leh side. I am sorry but I try to inline towards safer route and hence I don’t recommend such routes beyond middle of october.. Manali Leh will be open at that time just that risky of travel! Hence suggestion of Srinagar Leh highway.. plz dont get me wrong!

Thank you for watching my content... By air you can still plan a Ladakh trip. Yes, it will be cold and lakes and passes will be very cold. So, you have to go well prepared when traveling up there with winter clothing and layered clothing.

In Zanskar Valley, Padum has network then on the highways of Zanskar valley there isn't much network connectivity. As Zanskar Valley is in Ladakh UT, you need to have a post paid connection to work in Zanskar.

Sir, I do not recommend traveling on Manali Leh Highway especially after first week of October. If you are flying in and out of Leh, it can be manageable as chances of getting stuck in cold conditions in the middle of nowhere are limited. However, Manali Leh Highway, even when open, poses risks of travel in general that late in the season. I personally do not recommend it.

As of 2022, permits are not required for domestic tourists to travel anywhere in Ladakh including Hanle, Umling La pass or even Demchok. You only need to pay the environment/green/ecology fee and carry receipt of the payment. Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following: 1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time 2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day 3. Red Cross Fee = Rs 50 one time but Optional, you don’t need to pay if you don’t want to. DO NOT confuse environment fee receipt with permit. You just need to carry this fee receipt, hard copy or soft copy. This receipt may be checked at some checkposts. Hence, people are confusing it with permit but this is just verification that you have paid the fees.

No issue from the safety side, but as said in road, diversion does not have a proper road. But we faced no issue as we had a high ground clearance vehicle. We did hunder/nubra to pangong in 5 hours.

Just came back from Leh trip 2 days ago. Weather is good. Sunny in day little cold in evening and night with exception of Pangong which extremely cold. Road conditions pretty good, no water crossings. Also weather is very dry and beware of Sun.

Thanks a lot.. my travel dates were Sept 3 to Sept 11 .. i will not recommend planning Manali Leh road trip that late in the season.. within Ladakh it is possible to do trip with cold preparation

Weather needs to support you.. Make sure you check weather before traveling on Manali Leh road and also ensure to cover everything in one go and DO NOT sleep between Leh and Jispa. Either stay at Jispa or Leh overnight.

Well, if you leave early in the morning from Manali like 6 AM, you can beat the local traffic and get past those diversion roads in quicker time. Then the usual 8-9 Hrs may be like 9-10 hrs. However, if you do not leave early then you will be dependent upon how much traffic jam you get in those points, which will be hard to predict. Like I said I have heard people covering the distance in 6+ hrs too (Manali-Manali) while others who left early morning were able to do within 4 hrs too..
