My brother had GBM from 2019 and 2020. It's a disease that the medical professionals should have the understanding and capabilities to completely eradicate. They say they don't understand how to do this. I don't accept this. My brother died of this disease. The least the professionals should know is what causes it. Unacceptable that they don't know.

It's one of those things that is very hard to understand. You can say it's near impossible to know what it is with current knowledge. I understand your frustration as my grandmother died from it as well. Although, I pretty much accepted straight away.

I’m curious about Optune. I have unmethylated Glioblastoma and I’m 69 years old. I was told and read all over Google that the chemotherapy that we take (Temodar) doesn’t work on unmethylated. My oncologist put me on it for a year and suggested Optune. All I could see in their brochure is a percentage that some lived several months longer. I couldn’t see living 12-18 months with hair and a normal life or 24 months shaving my head every day, gluing wires to my head and wearing a battery backpack for 18 hours a day. I just had an MRI at month 18. I was done with chemotherapy a few months ago and my tumors are still gone. If I had worn the Optune my doctor and even myself would be giving Optune the credit. If people live with tumors coming back at varying lengths how do they know Optune is the reason.

Wow..would like to hear more about your story. I have a loved one diagnosed with GBM.

@@michaelg4135 I can’t really help. We’re all different. I can share some things. At the beginning when they put me on radiation and chemo I started riding an indoor exercise bike. I did leg squats. I did small dumbbells. My strategy was that I read that the chemotherapy might make me tired. I figured that each month I did chemo I would be in better shape at the end of each month. I downloaded a Couch to 5K app and got to where I could jog 3 miles. My oncologist kept me on chemo for 12 months and said it works on some unmethyated people. I didn’t really see that on Google.

Fake, glioblastoma tumours cannot be fully removed, glioblastoma isn’t curable.

there are certain requirements. but if you qualify for treatment you should try nothing is guaranteed but right now sadly there are not many great choices. my partner has been on it for 3 months and we are hoping his mri next week shows the tumor has stopped growing..so we are hoping for the best.

Where is the holistic treatment.. like an elimination diet.. strictly carnivore. Just asking
@keliahx44510 ай бұрын
As much as ketogenic, carnivore ect do their best at slowing glucose metabolism in cancer cells, your body still produces glucose and eventually the tumor will overcome the brain. So it's not 100%.
