Ok the dewing as demonstrate in this cad . program is correct in many ways But it as " Design" Points missing I will contact in this post . although this dewing is true in many way their are point missing I will correct now . if were to Ues this post with the washer as designed we would do so well until. we had a job in the lath which had interrupted cuts Or a ruff & uneven surface, then the tool tip would-migrate dowered in a the direction of the turning chuck , & loos it's canter-line & common fault in the Lely days of the "Design" this was over com by the ues of the scrolled OR grooved concave washer . I my self used the grooved washer ,But I have seen the scroll tip & vert effective it was to [PERPPOS]. :- prevent movement the grove would lock in to place the poison of the woodruff key & prevent it migrating when struck reputedly by an uneven surface. The fault resulted in over tightening of the post & braking out of the cross Slide [ T ] slot often found to day on the smaller lath. The scroll groves on the convex washer had the, Benefit of ease setting of the Tool tip on centreline. As the washer was rostered it would allow the key & tool tip to increase or lower depending on the directions it was rotated , & difficult to achieve. with a concave washer . But not imposable. I used the grove option ounce's set there no ned to reset. unless you require to change the size of toll . . often in the modern tool tips we see to day have the Tool reeks designed in to the Tooling this is over come with-ring spacers to fit the required high & size of tooling or i some cases a adjustable spacer to set the determine Hight off tooling in' use & the concave washer for fin adjustment if needed But often ues in the flat polishing. as rack was already built in to the tip's . i hop this helps in the design. of your Projects Les Thompson "England"
