We have survived 1000 years in the HIGHEST difficulty (survival mode) with no AI around and now It's time to test what we learned against the same difficulty but now on a far smaller island with fewer resources whilst also competing against the maximum level AI who I simply don't wish to bargin with nor befriend.

About Kingdoms and Castles - Kingdoms and Castles is a city-building simulation game about growing a kingdom from a tiny hamlet to a sprawling city and imposing castle. I think it’s really interesting that the AI is clearly programmed to build a grid of 3x3s and then to fill them based on what they contain. It’s like one of those automated self expanding Factorio bases.

Timberhalm is literally Cadia. A fortresses island built to withstand Viking invasions and deter further ground lost on the inner islands.

I really like to make 6x6 road grids (4x4 inside) so that I can fit almost anything inside the square like manors, large markets, hospitals, large taverns, take out a middle road for a large graveyard, bathhouses with stuff like wells or bakeries on the side, and another 2x2 option for safety and happiness is a bakery on the road with a firefighter also on the road and a well behind it.

Here's an idea for an FTD Adventure challenge: no sububjects (turrets/spinblocks/pistons). All weapons must be hull mounted, which will give them all limited fields of fire. No missiles either, because they don't really care about launch angle.

Last time I played this game, one of the AI kingdom kings kept asking me for a payment of gold, and I wasn't collecting gold from taxes fast enough. I kept telling him "sorry, I have to pay you later", and he got reallly mad. I did pay him once, but then when I couldn't do it a second time, he declared war. I finally got enough gold, sent a diplomatic envoy to his kingdom, and begged him to end the conflict, but he refused. Yay.

I may be mistaken, but doesn’t the speed of the first viking attack depend on how much your population grows? If so, that might explain how you never get towers completed before the first attack.

Bit of both! Our main island just didn't have amazing fish reserves around the coast and once I had expanded to sections of the island with some fish I had invested into pork which fills the same use as fish for the peasants health (Fruit - Wheat - Fish/Pork). In general It's also just quite a slow food supply and requires the fishmonger and tools to really get going, It can be VERY good but you need to invest a fair bit. I do use it on the first island I grabbed however! :)

I love this game, its simple and not very artsy as in good realistic graphics but who cares. Its hell of a lot of fun and has its own hard learning curve. You can so easily f-ck up your long game :'D
