I lived in Lathrop from 1950 to 1954 (age 4 to 8) and some things were worse... the river was polluted, and not much grass, just blowing dirt. It was a place to house the poor in one place. We left when my mom re-married and moved to the suburbs... we were lucky.

I've ridden through here many times. The southern section is completely abandoned except for that one red apartment building. North of Diversey is actually quite nice and safe affordable housing that I think was converted from the old projects. The area has a lot of potential now that the river is nicer and this is just west of Lakeview.

People still live here some vacant but the surrounding area all gentrified some activities still “ probably “ occur but still project looking !
