... as a growing boy.. .. back in the '60's.. .. have served as alter server [alter boy] .. .. and we automatically learned all these Latin Hymns.. .. at Mass serving with our back to the congregation.. .. not knowing the meaning.. .. we used to catch the lyrics by sound.. .. and I'm proud to say to this day I can recall most of songs/Hymns.. .. oh !! I miss those days.. .. am proud of my departed parents who genuinely instilled in me and my siblings and brought us up in true Catholic faith.. .. I'm even to this day practicing Catholic of Indian origin.. .. from Mangalore, India.. .. known even today as ROME OF THE EAST.. .. may God bless us all ❤❤

This beautiful singing takes me back to the 1960's . I was in the Parish choir and the Holy Mass was celebrated in Latin upto 1967..... Beautiful memories

They make me remember my childhood in the 1980’s ! And my father who used to take us to those masses ; we lost him this year ! I listen to them I am happy and sad (and cry at theesame time)

I wish I had been in the choir you were in. I was head chorister at my church I got to sing the Psalm every Sunday . But, Vatican 2 meant I had to use English. Latin chant has a mystical ness about it.

I belong from Bengal, India. And my grandmother when talking about her childhood(1940s) days used to tell me about how she used to attend masses every Sunday but understand nothing as everything used to be in Latin. It's her 83rd birthday next Saturday.
