This performance is beyond belief, the cinemaphotography, the ART, and this time we get to savor over 4 minutes of total bliss, no one is capable of doing this song justice like Angelina Jordan. David Foster and Linda Thompson, who co-wrote this ballad for Whitney Houston would be blown away by this performance. She changed the key to this song, but does it really matter as long as she has the ability to give each word, or phrase, meaning like no one else in this universe can. How can she evoke such emotion in each and every performance? Why do I get chills, or cry tears, or lose my breath when Angelina sing a song that I have experienced many times in the past without this happening? If this feeling only happened to me that would be ok, but it happens to billions of people. We play these videos of AJ over, and over again to get our high. I was a Whitney fan from the beginning of her career to her tragic end. Whitney was great, but Angelina at 16 is far better than Whitney ever was at making you feel each word, and phrase. AJ changes every cover to make if hers and far, far better than the original. AJ is the greatest STORYTELLING ARTEST I have ever experienced in my 75 years.

Angelina Jordan is 16 years old this year, 2022. Yes, her voice and the ability to convey the emotion, the truth, the story....and it is transcendent. Always. Even the saddest song. She smartly sang this song within her range. Several times this summer she sang this song at live outdoor concerts, and each time (based on the videos) she nails it. People who were there say her voice is even "more" in person. And then she sends us home with the long velvet ribbon of that last note. 💜

During her latest concert she dedicated the song to her absent and recovering grandmother with whom she has a strong bond. I can’t explain this with vocal coach knowledge and detail but the way she sings the word “hurt” is what hurt feels like. That’s why I love her so much, that talent and ability to translate emotions so truthfully into her singing. I believe this might explain the devotion of her fans, myself included. There is, for obvious reasons, a deeply felt loss of and hunger for truth that Angelina is able to give to the world. The truth is plain to see and she gives it to us with humility and love.
