Audio launch is usually to promote anticipation for the movie, so in Tamil industry, at least, songs are released in advance and if it’s a hit, more people go to the cinema to enjoy the movie (and the songs since the theatre experience is in a different level in India). Singles will drop in advance on KZbin but not with complete visuals..generally with lyrics and some movie shots and making (BTS clips) ..they use these singles for promotion of the movies..In South India especially in Telugu and Tamil ..we have Pre-release events or Audio Launch events before the release of the movie (these are grand events indicating that big movie is releasing ) In these events there will be a special guest (generally another big actor) and live song performances by music director and the original song singers
