The anime is Demon Slayer it's extremely popular. When I heard the OST in Demon Slayer for the first time I knew it was LiSa bc her voice is so recognizable & she always pours her soul into the songs.

Actually those that follow shounen jump(manga) demon slayer was pretty average compare to My hero or one piece. It wasn't until the anime aired that it got more popular beating one piece in manga sales break in 12 year long record. Among enthusiasts the 2 common reason for the popularity increase are 1st being LiSa singing the opening bringing people in and 2nd.... spoiler................ ep19 animation . My personal opinion it was ok and quirky/ funny but nothing new until the animation in ep 19. That is where anime can outshine the manga despite it being source and not many animes can do that. Ep 19 is where the anime turn ok to good.

Japanese singers are known with their high range voice, I'm not a vocal expert or singer or whatsoever but Japanese are so good with high songs like rocks ❤️❤️ and their voice are so raw too ❤️ sounds good live too ❤️ and almost all of the anime songs are like that too. That's why aside from other singers from other country I liked Japanese voice too ❤️

By the time the anime this was from aired, LiSA already sung the soundtracks for a lot of popular anime. So it wasn't one or the other that made them popular. The anime itself was very good on it's own, and the song already was very good on it's own. They just happened to be together and it shook the internet

isn't it crazy how every syllable she sings is sounding as how she intends it and that requires extreme talent AND skill. thus, despite the complexity and tempo, the emotion still remains. most times when a singing is very well-planned, the heart is gone. LiSa mastered doing both.

I think this song could have also become a big hit in japan even without the anime. These types of songs often become popular there. I would put this song in the japanese rock genre and as far as I know that is pretty popular there. This song structure would not be an outlier if we are talking about the music market there.

I love your reactions. I’m Filipino and like you I love discovering new music. I agree that Gurenge is complex. All the Japanese music and musicians that I have encountered are all technically awesome. I really suggest you watch The First Take of Burnout Syndromes’ “Phoenix”. I believe Efra would not be as “confused”, therefore, he would enjoy slowly being immersed in the beautiful melding of poetry and technicality that is Japanese music. Cheers guys. Honestly I've been a fan of LiSA from back in 2010 when she was less popular and her music was still just as crazy back then. I think it being so musically different and once you looked into the lyrics each song told a story, you really just fall in love with her. Her recent stuff along with her Anime Theme Songs really do showcase her talent for this type of music. It's hard to describe how insanely talented she is while being so humble about it and just having so much fun. It's truly hard not to enjoy her music, even for those of us like myself who are very novice in this type of field but just listening to the song, especially Homura, you could really understand the journey she was taking you on. If you closed your eyes and listened you'd feel the song play out. It's stunning.

Very good review I love how you expressed why you felt the way you did about each of the sections. also if I had to point out a favorite thing about this song it is the soft intensity, the quiet pressure. It feels like a bottle under pressure about to explode. And to me is kinda like how we bottle things up and the release of the pressure can be so blissful.

Japan has this concept of artists called "Anisingers", who mostly perform intros and outros for anime and games. As such, their popularity is often very intertwined with the popularity of the anime they perform for itself. However, LiSA is one of the few who, simply by her song being either an intro, is actually able to outshine the anime she's in and sometimes bring viewership to said anime. This particular intro was able to get this popular both because not only is the anime one of the most popular of these past five years (some could say of all time), and because it's LiSA, who has basically become a household name in Japan even before the anime.

Many Japanese songs that I listen to have a very fast tempo, which says a lot about Japanese artist and how good their breathing technique is. Especially Japanese artist who covers vocaloid songs(which are known to be very fast in tempo and vocally demanding). I recommend this song especially, Inochi ni Kirawareteiru covered by Mafumafu. Also you should check out an artist called Ado. All of her songs are great. If you want to check out more artist on the first take, I recommend checking out yama - Haru wo Tsugeru. Or you can also check LiSA's other songs, unlasting or Catch the Moment. There are so many crazy talented Japanese artist out there! Thanks for reacting to them

Lisa is a legend..This song is a masterpiece already. Plus putting this song on an anime like Demon Slayer(the story is 2nd to non) is just mind blowing. These anime and song put together makes me cry all the time..Listening to it and picturing tanjiro carrying his little sister(nesuko) inside a wooden box to search for cure for his sister(she was possessed by a demon) while fighting all these demons along the way.

the song is made for the anime (you can notice from the lyrics that it's relates to the story line of the anime, which usually the case for anime ost). LiSA has been very well known before, but Japanese music unlike Korean has been quite a niche area compared to the Korean counterparts. Reasons are the exclusivity of the culture and the industry, like the distribution of CD albums for example, are limited to Japan and usually forbidden to be sold outside of Japan (the Japanese release) and they rarely release the foreign/international version. Only until recently that newer anime are available on platforms on netflix and such that it also fished out the "normies" that's not actively looking for anime or the subculture in it that makes it more exposed to bigger audience and make it more famous. She's also has been at least 10 years in the industry. At least I first hear her and love her like around 2010-2011.

she's very talented singer and has a unique voice. i watched the anime series and currently in it's 2nd season. This song was the opening song in the 1st season of the anime and i was blown away by the song and the singer's unique voice. the anime is a materpiece too you should check it, its worth to watch.

Almost all LiSa's song have made some anime popular. Anime studios producing anticipated anime from manga decide the singers based on the style, suitability, sometimes the popularity of the singer matters as well. LiSa is already a well known singer for her popular anime opening and closing songs in the anime community. So the popularity of the anime (Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer) + the popularity of LiSa + LiSa's wonderful strong voice = Made the song very popular and of course the anime as well.
