Just a quick thing: nct dream has always been an actual unit of NCT. It's based on teenagers (it started in 2016, the youngest was 14 and the oldest 17) and used to have a graduation sistem, the members would leave when they completed 20 - now that's gone, SM finally listened to us and realized that the bond these guys have is amazing. Mark and Haechan were in both Dream and 127 (Haechan still promotes with both). So, yes, they're teens, but they're also already a part of NCT and they started together with 127.

[EFRA PLEASE READ] Here’s how the units work: NCT’s concept is an unlimited amount of members and before the entirety of the group came out, there was a rumor that SM said that they had 40 trainees lined up for this group, but I’m not sure what they’re doing atm. They just plan to have a lot of people, but break them down into subunits that have different bases and concepts. NCT U: it was the very first subunit, the industry’s introduction to NCT, and THE most confusing subunit. The ‘U’ stands for United, to unite all the members of the group despite their units. How the unit works is that it’s a rotational unit, meaning any member of NCT can join it as long as they’re on a song under NCT U. [Edit: with that being said, each song will have a different amount of members on it]. April 2016 was the debut with ‘The 7th Sense’ consisting of 5 members. They released another single that year called ‘Without You’ with 4 members, keeping 2 members and adding 2 more to NCT U (3 on Korean ver., 4 on Chinese ver.), becoming 7. The next comeback wasn’t until 2 years later ‘Boss’ and ‘Baby Don’t Stop’ and they kept some of the same members from 'The 7th Sense', but 1 was not present in ‘Boss’, but he was present in 'Baby Don't Stop' (which consisted of 2 members). They added 3 more members during ‘Boss’ making NCT U 10, but the video consisted of 7. And more recently they released a single called ‘Coming Home’ in December 2019 (which is SLEPT ON btw), consisting of 4 people, with 1 more added member, making NCT U 11 people as a whole. Members in order of being added: -Taeyong (The 7th Sense) -Doyoung (The 7th Sense) -Ten (The 7th Sense) -Jaehyun (The 7th Sense) -Mark (The 7th Sense) -Taeil (Without You) -Kun (Without You Chinese Ver.) -Winwin (Boss) -Jungwoo (Boss) -Lucas (Boss) -Haechan (Coming Home) NCT 127: this unit is the ‘main’ unit that’s based in Seoul. The 127 stands for the longitude coordinates of Seoul. NCT 127 debuted after NCT U in July 2016 with ‘Firetruck’, starting with 7 members (some from NCT U, some not). The next year in 2017 they added 2 people on the song ‘Limitless’, another member from NCT U and a newly debuted trainee, making 9. Then in 2018 on ‘Regular’ they added one more person from NCT U, making 10 for NCT 127 (there are 9 in Kick It because one member is promoting with the Chinese subunit). It’s a more permanent version of NCT U tbrh. Members in order of being added: -Taeyong (leader; Firetruck) -Taeil (Firetruck) -Yuta (Firetruck) -Jaehyun (Firetruck) -Winwin (Firetruck) -Mark (Firetruck) -Haechan (Firetruck) -Johnny (Limitless) -Doyoung (Limitless) -Jungwoo (Regular) NCT Dream (the lovelies you reacted to today): this unit is an idol unit, not a trainee unit, they’re just really young. This unit was supposed to be the ‘teenager’ unit, having a graduation system where once you reach a certain age, you’ll be put into a different unit. NCT Dream debuted after NCT 127 in August 2016 with ‘Chewing Gum’ consisting of 7 members the oldest was 17 and the youngest was 14. They continued like that until 2018 (one of the members was absent due to injury for two comebacks but he came back), when Mark became a legal adult and had to graduate, ‘Candlelight’ in December 2018 being the last single that he was on with the group to date. That’s why they’ve been 6 for the past two years. People were so upset because they had already bonded so well as a group only to eventually be separated that they hounded SM to make it a fixed unit. Finally, SM announced that the group will be a fixed unit with all 7 members (and only 7 including Mark) and the unit will continue to function but more like NCT U because some of the members are in other subunits. [Edit: most likely meaning that not every member will be on every song moving forward as Mark is to rejoin the unit for the next comeback] Members in age order: -Mark -Renjun -Jeno -Haechan -Jaemin -Chenle -Jisung WayV: (some people don’t consider this NCT but I do so) this is the Chinese unit. THE MOST STABLE SUBUNIT NCT HAS IN TERMS OF MEMBERS. This unit has the Chinese members from other NCT units (except for the 2 in Dream) and then added 3 more trainees, making the unit 7 people and NCT as a whole 21 members. WayV doesn’t have NCT tied to their name because they promote in China and China and South Korea have had some political issues. They debuted with the Chinese ver. of Regular in January 2019 (best sweet 16 gift btw) with 7 members. They have remained that way since then (that COULD change idk, we’ll see). Their most recent song was ‘Love Talk’ and they have a Chinese and an English version (it SLAPS). Members in age order: -Kun -Ten -Winwin -Lucas -Xiaojun -Hendery -Yangyang Extras (things you might see that aren't often explained): NCT 2018: a project NCT did in 2018, all 18 members (of that time) participated, each subunit having a track on their album called ‘Empathy’. [Edit: this project only has one song called 'Black On Black' that consists of all 18 members of that year on one track and in the choreography] SuperM: under SM, not an NCT subunit, but consist of some NCT and WayV members (Taeyong, Mark, Ten, Lucas). Efra Herrera if you want to learn their names, the best way to learn is by subunit. If you watch guides, watch by subunit. If you watch funny videos, a lot of them include NCT as a whole, so those are good for testing names. DO NOT try it all at once, it will get even more confusing. I hope this helped at least a little bit. And if you ever say someone’s name wrong, don’t worry about it we’ve all been there

Nct dream debuted with chewing gum and at that time the oldest was 17 and the youngest was 14 and i feel like their concept until boom was growing and maturing to a certain point wich is the graduation from the unit but since their concept changed they are reloading a new path away from the graduation and all that stuff and follow their path ( idk if that made sense but correct me if i didn't, English is not my first language soo sorry )

Actually you don’t necessarily have to any background in music to be a trainee you can also be scouted just for your visuals which happens a lot and then from there when you are trainee they focus on growing your skills example taeyong from nct127 had no experience in music or dance let alone knowledge of the music industry but because of the experience he has gained as a trainee he’s an amazing dancer now

So yeah NCT Dream was supposed to be a unit for only teenagers and when they reach 20 they are supposed to graduate and get placed into a different unit ( Not necessarily NCT 127 as they are a fixed unit). In 2018 Mark Graduated and fans were so sad like devastated. Also the members were really sad they cried their eyes out at their concert last year. At the end of last year 4 members were going to age out of the unit and fans heavily clamoured for this line up ( Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung and possible Mark) to be a fixed/permanent unit. SM actually listened to the fans and did last literally a few weeks ago. Also Dream has really good chemistry as they trained and basically grew up together so splitting them up was really heartbreaking.

Nct dream is a unit that consists of all the younger and underage members of nct, the members graduate from the unit once they turn 20 (for example last year mark graduated from dream but continued in the other units) well because almost all of the dream members, besides the two youngest, turn 20 this year, SM decided to listen to our prayer and make dream a "fixed unit", but the name will change to nct Q (i think). with 'fixed unit' we mean that, all the 7 'dreamies' (that's what we call the members in the dream unit) including mark will be in that unit (nct Q) and no one will have to graduate from it bc of getting older. I don't know if they are gonna keep the unit 'nct dream' tho bc if they would keep the unit, that would mean we would be getting new members that are gonna join the nct team- This whole thing is really confusing for a person that doesn't know much about nct but I still hope this helped a little bit, I myself am not really the most knowledgeable person on the whole units n stuff but I tried my best to tell u what I know so far, in general the nct concept is kinda hard to explain lmao- Also if there are any grammar mistakes I apologize, english is not my first language ^^ lot's of luvvv from me and thanks for ur reactions ❤

Yes Efra, your thought about the lyrics is right. If you know SM, there always a message about the group in their lyrics. SM sometimes use lyrics from one group to talk about the other group (all group is in the same company so they can do it). Like when Red velvet drop a song called Rookie when NCT is still a Rookie group. It's not a coincident.

nct dream didnt graduate to be a part of nct 127. nct dream was always a sub unit but the concept was to only have teens in it so once they were 20 they'll graduate, they could be in dream and another sub unit at the same time. the graduation system was to maintain nct dream's teen concept but all of us were against it bc of the chemistry they 7 shared and bc 5 of them werent in another sub unit so their future was uncertain.

Nct dream is 20 and below. Jisung - 18 Chenle - 19 Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Haechan, - 20 Bcs of their success in such a young age, they have to dropped of school. So the only friends they have are themselves. Usually, when idols who debut before school graduate(20), they still have to go to schools but not dream. Idols and trainee usually goes to performing arts school. Famous one, SOPA (school of performing arts, seoul). Its easier for them to deal with school when they have idol schedules and stuffs.

Me personally I thought i would like nct 127 the most because of the style they were going for fit my music taste but then nct dream blew me away with their albums I like every song they do their lit and they get a lot of love in Korea which is good.

NCT Dream has always been an NCT Unit it‘s just the younger members the Teenagers. They debuted when they were really young they have been training since they were 9-14 years old and debuted when they were 14-17 years old. They weren’t supposed to go to 127 they were supposed to go to other Units not 127 specifically. NCT 127 is already a fixed Unit. The big thing was that they abolished the *graduating when they become teenagers* rule since Mark already graduated last year everyone including the Dreamies were really devastated about it, and the new CEO of SM announced that after the Reload comeback Mark will be back with Dream and they won’t graduate anymore. It was a big relief because 4 of the members were turning 20 this year and they would graduate this year all at once. If they graduated there would be only 2 left of the original NCT Dream members. It’s something that I can tell the youngest member was dreading because he’s only been around them and he’s always been the youngest since NCT debuted and he was going to be left alone since the other 6 graduate before him. It was a huge weight off of their shoulders and the fans.

I have to disagree with what you said at the first about more trainees should debuted.Even a big company like sm,the amount of artist they have has outgrown their management.SM artists are all either get scheduled for a weird timing or have to wait for a long time for a comeback recent years,Instead or having people debuted randomly with no plans it would be better to kick them out earlier so they can find their way to live a life than just sit in SM’s basement

Its not like that tho... they’ve been an actual group but they had this concept when you became 20 years old, you have to leave the group like what happened to Mark. Its not like nct 127 the “peak”. They’re all in the same level but its just that they are where the youngsters of nct came together. Its not that they became a new group and weren’t before but what happened is that because the fans were complaining about the graduating concept, the entertainment decided to drop the rule and make them a FIXED UNIT. Originally, 4 of the members (2000 liner) were going to graduate which left us with 2 other members and some new trainees will debut as the new members of nct dream but it turns out that the 4 members will stay and currently, there’s no new member.

Se que NCT es complicado pero la idea es básicamente crear una marca la marca en este caso seria NCT las diferentes sub unidades están hechas para un publico en especifico, NCT Dream es mas para teens, NCT 127 es la sub unidad principal ( sus integrantes normalmente no cambian probablemente solo agreguen a alguien mas pero ya se dijo que no, que serian 9 ) y su estilo es un poco mas maduro y mas internacional por eso tienes canciones en ingles. Esta la sub unidad NCT U la U si mal no recuerdo es por universal lo que significa que cualquier miembro de cualquier sub unidad puede estar en esta unidad y no tiene un numero especifico de integrantes, la primera canción fue con 7 integrantes, otra fue con 9 y otra con apenas 2 creo que depende del estilo de la canción escogerían a las personas para cantar. La ultima sub unidad seria NCT WayV yo los llamo asi porque a pesar de que su nombre en realidad es WayV son una sub unidad de NCT en china solo que por cuestiones politicas ( si politicas ) no se pueden llamar ''NCT China'' ( esto es un ejemplo de un nombre ) Marck estaba en NCT Dream pero al cumplir 20 años se graduó, la idea de NCT Dream fue debutar a los mas chicos en el proyecto NCT y luego de cierta edad (20) se graduarían a cualquier otra sub unidad no necesariamente NCT 127 de hecho antes de la noticia de que fueran ahora una sub unidad fija yo imagine que los 2 miembros chinos de Dream pasarían a WayV y los otros chicos pasarían a formar otra sub unidad de NCT porque tengo entendido SM tienen planes de sacar mas grupos. Ahora que son una unidad fija Marck volvería imagino como líder ( ya que es el mayor y a pesar de que se supone la unica unidad de NCT con un líder seria NCT 127 los chicos de Dream le decían líder a MArck) En concluir esto se veía venir ya que NCT Dream es de las unidades de NCT con mas éxito local de hecho la primera victoria de NCT en shows musicales en corea fue con NCT Dream y separar a los integrantes no creo que fuera una movida inteligente ya que parte de la popularidad de NCT Dream son sus integrantes y lo bien que se llevan. Ahora Marck estaría en NCT 127 fijo y en NCT Dream fijo también a demás de ser integrante de superM. Hechan también estaría en ambas sub unidades NCT Dream y NCT 127 siendo el menor en 127 y el mayor en Dream ( en edad ) sorry por el testamento pero NCT es un sistema complicado y quisiera que lo entendieran lo mejor posible, les recomendaria reaccionar a alguna guia de ellos pero por sub unidades NCT Dream NCT 127 y WayV creo que por sub unidades les seria mas facil Saludos desde Venezuela

Solo para dejarlo claro NCT DREAM no se graduaba para estar en 127, Mark ya estaba en 127 por eso cuando se graduó se quedó ahí al igual que Haechan (el que tiene la voz más cool según Wale) también está ahí. Pero después de la graduación iban a ponerlos en otras subunidades o crear más no agregarlos a 127
