Timezones do not change when you go from north to south , they change when you go from east to west. The reason why india only has only one timezone is because india is more north to south long and that much east to west long. The northeast runs about an hour early but still have to follow IST other than that no one living anywhere else really has a problem with the time zone.

SANDALWOOD or KFI (Kannada Film Industry) is an under-rated industry brought to fame by movie KGF The industry do have much to check out as singers like SPB, YESUDAS, SHREYA, S JANAKI etc have contributed to it. The 'kuthu' dance songs you hear mostly that you associate with South india are Tamil and Telugu music. Malayalam music is usually quite different.. mostly melodic.We have some great singers in Malayalam as well - K J Yesudas, and K S Chitra.. It is not to say that Tamil and Telugu music does not have melodious music. Of course, there are quite a few... (I don't have much knowledge about Kannada .. sorry)
