Hi. We do not take upper merpass time because moon UL is given. We take upper merpass because it passes observers prime meridian. Even if moon LL was given we take upper merpass time as it will still pass the obervers prime meridian. If it was given moon passes obervers 180 deg long, that means, opposite of obervers meridian or obeservers inferior meridian only then we take Lower merpass time, thats why the upper and lower merpass time of moon have approx 12 hrs diff everyday

Steps to Calculate LMP: Determine the UMP Time: Use the Nautical Almanac or similar reference to find the UMP time for the Moon on the given date. Add 12 Hours: Since the LMP occurs approximately 12 hours after the UMP, add 12 hours to the UMP time. Apply Longitude Correction: If the observer's longitude is West, subtract the longitude in time from the calculated LMP time. If the observer's longitude is East, add the longitude in time to the calculated LMP time. Example: If the UMP time for the Moon on a particular day is 12:30 PM GMT, and the observer's longitude is 60 degrees West: Add 12 hours to the UMP time: 12:30 PM + 12 hours = 12:30 AM (next day) Convert the longitude to time: 60 degrees / 15 degrees/hour = 4 hours Since the longitude is West, subtract the longitude time from the LMP time: 12:30 AM - 4 hours = 8:30 PM (previous day) Therefore, the LMP for the Moon for that observer would be 8:30 PM on the previous day.

Sir how can we determine that the Sun is bearing south of me? And in case of UL corr. we are subtracting 30.0' but in case of LL, do we need to substract or add anything? And main correction and HP correction to be always added? This is some doubts that I'm having sir. I'll be highly obliged if you kindly explain me. Thanking you in advance sir.
