Which one would you suggest between Lattafa Ajayeb Dubai and Khamrah Qahwa? (i already own kismet angel as you mentioned the dried down is a bit familiar to angel's share)

Definitely a leap forward from Khamrah. I think it shares some inspiration with best of Lattafa Royal blends. The full dry down skin scent of dark vanilla is the magic that gets better and better. Even after 12 hours it is still with you leaving an impression to those close to you.

One thing that seems all over the board on This one is the coffee note... Some say it smells like a cappuccino and others say it smells not milky and more like black coffee. One person compared it to Killian's Intoxicated coffee note. Edit: you just said a lot of what I wrote. You're review makes the argument 50/50 on which side that coffee leans so far. One thing that differentiates you is most say it's very powerful and the coffee doesn't show right away.

Ajayeb Dubai by Lattafa is the Black Phantom dupe.... Smells awesome and I get quite a bit of compliments when I wear it. It has a bit more of a creamier smell than Black Phantom. I have them both and love both!

the reason that Khamrah is so different from Angels Share is that it's originally supposed to be a dupe of House Of Oud - Dates Delight according to Lattafa. Apparently it was re-boxed as it wasn't selling and people started to associate it with Angels Share.

@@ktp2309Nice, someone knows that it's actually a Dates Delight clone! I've heard that the rumor started on an american website, I believe Jomashop. When they first listed the fragrance they wrote it's a clone of AS, probably just going by the bottle design. KZbinrs picked it up and started calling it AS clone (and continue to do so to this day, which shows they don't know what they're talking about, just trying to sell it to you). After a while they removed the information from the website but the rumor was already out there. Lattafa never straight up copies the bottle design of the fragrance they're cloning. Not a single time that I can recall. Only their sub brand Maison Alhambra does that. It would be weird if they did that only to Khamrah.

I have a feeling cheapies clones dupes twists brands will be as good and equal footing as designers niche at some point. Especially when flankers are highly anticipated from them. Let's hope the prices don't catch up to designers niche as well. Will be interesting to see.

It should have happened since. The quality of these middle eastern brands and their new releases are much better than basic designer fragrances now. The middle eastern houses have been in competition with each other, not to talk of now people are raving about them... So you see why they need to keep the consistency and standard high so as to remain in the competition.

​@@asyraaf3437Maceration takes place before the perfume even reaches the bottle. It's essentially the same process that makes liqueur taste of fruit. Yeah, well, liqueur doesn't get much fruitier once they take out the damn fruit. Whatever we may choose to call this process (partly of oxidation rather than any kind of further saturation of the liquid, I think) that in my experience can improve some fragrances early in their lives, technically one thing it most definitely is not is maceration. Unless you find you have to sift a lot of ingredients out of your fragrances.

​​​@@asyraaf3437That is not maceration. It's what pretty much everyone in the fragrance community *calls* maceration, because many have probably never heard the word in any other context. To macerate something is to soften it and bring it close to dissolving by placing it in liquid (often alcohol) and leaving it to "steep" (steeping is what tea does in water). It cannot happen in anything like the same way in a bottle of perfume and has nothing to do with the oxidation etc. that people in fragcom seem to mean when they use the word. If there were any maceration happening in the bottle, it would not depend on oxygen. If you can find a dictionary definition of maceration that matches what people mean when they endlessly use the word about Middle Eastern fragrances, you're gonna need a better dictionary.
