Nixon you describe fragrances in a way that makes me think I can imagine the smell accurately. I love the comparisons. You are definitely the Middle Eastern fragrance “go to” guy. It seems the fragrance reviewers in the states are just now (in the past 3-4 months) discovering Lataffa/ Afnan/ Al Haramin and other Middle Eastern fragrance houses. Thanks for always being on top of it and ahead of the pack 👍🏾

I just got my bottle delivered today and I'm loving it! It reminds me of Kuwait City and my walks around the Marina Mall in the evenings. For anyone who has lived in the Middle East, this is an instantly recognizable oud fragrance and it could be categorized as exotic by a Westerner who is not familiar with oud. Now I live in Canada and I think this is something I can weak all year round, it would be perfect for the fall/winter and for the summer as well because in my region it's very dry and short. Thanks for the video, Nixon . Keep up with the great work!

When I first got mine around August of 22, the longevity was lacking. The opening is delicious, but it dried down to a skin scent of very light cinnamon/spicy and woods combo very quickly. After letting it macerate for 5 months I tested it again. The opening lasted much longer, and while cinnamon is not a listed note it has become very prominent. Plum, fruity, cinnamon. Still on skin at the 12 hour mark, but again - once the opening dries down it is a skin scent. Sillage is better than the projection. I could still smell it easily in the air when moving around but it did not 'push' off. I actually like it much more now than when I first got it. -- Give it a little time and you might increase your rating.

This review right here is an example of what is helpful. Some comparisons to the inspiration is important to me, but I'm not always looking for the same exact thing just for my price point. I kinda have an ethical issue with that. What i really enjoy hearing are the Middle Eastern underpinnings of the fragrance, by someone who understands them more than I do. I dobt necessarily need to know how good Eternal Oud is at being a copy, but how good it is at being itself as Eternal Oud (which is neither eternal nor oudy, lol). But at least it seems to smell gorgeous! I really appreciate it!

@@sonialuceri I've never smelled it, but I've heard it has a fair comparison to it. Probably not a dupe with the plum note, but 70 to 85% similar? This is gleaned from several reviews that I've watched. I have Eternal Oud and love it.

Great review. I picked this up a little while ago and I rather enjoyed it. I was considering picking up the Borouj Perlador, which is a Red Tobacco / Carlisle clone. But after your review, would it be redundant to do so? Thank!

I thought it was a Frankincense Tree... but it could definitely be a Bristle Pine, too! That actually makes more sense because it's named "Eternal Oud" or "Eternal Wood."

Hi there! it is a great review indeed, keep them coming. I often find myself watching your videos because of your in depth analysis. Although I don't believe in having a huge collection I use Versace Dylan Blue and Chopard Incense Malaki or Bvlgari Man Orient and PDM Layton decants throughout the year.Wanted to try L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Issey Miyake, Jaipur Homme Bousheron and Zino Davidoff for spring, they sound to me as good budget buys would appreciate if you could share your opinion on them... or better still a review would be quite awesome.

Just got it today - to me its cinnamon rum and sandalwood. Very nice - not super feminine but I can wear it anyway bc I love these kinds of scent. $34 USD. great value

Hmm to me this isnt similar to Carlisle one bit (I own both) to be honest this smells like the younger brother, a little more sweet and edgy version of Guerlain Heritage. Both to to me have a strong lavender note and come across as cousins🤷🏻‍♂️ Eternal Oud has sweetness and amber tho

It’s a pretty darn close dupe. Maybe a bit less deep and resinous than Grand Soir. But very good for the price

Pretty close, grand soir is definitely in its own league and it is great from start to finish. Eternal Oud opens rough/harsh/synthetic even a little weird when not used to it, after 5-10 minutes it seems to mellow into being very close to Grand Soir

Fragrance is completely subjective. Nixon’s role is to help you get a sense of what it smells like, not to tell you whether or not to buy it. That’s up to you to decide, based on your preferences in fragrances.
