The smelling like smoke part is something that really resonated with me as an African, I hear alot of "western" reviewers say they love the firewood smell, where I'm from that isn't a pleasing or even good smell at all !

@oldschoolfunkster12 жыл бұрын
It's not a "white" thing. It's a regional thing. Westerners get tired of smelling the same fragrance DNA that the major perfumers put out. Looking for something different. A smoky essence to westerners is different. It sounds like Africans are used to burnt smells so they favor western perfumes. I know middle-easterners are into bakhoors, incense and oud. So not all smokes are bad smelling. I would agree if the fragrance is real heavy in smoke or is barnyard animalistic. I don't care for those either. I'm a Latino who lives in America and I love oud or woody fragrances.

I decluttered oud mood because the saffron + oud was a bit too cloying and annoying to me, I also don’t like opulent musk because of that saffron. OMG CeCe I just found this video of yours, can’t agree more with you on some of these, I’m laughing! Oud for Glory does smell like tar & tires in the background… and little else! Fakhr Gold is like grape juice in an old dusty bottle. Can’t get past the metallic note in Ajwad; wore it to bed one time and nauseated myself. Yara Moi had an out-of-place gourmand element in the background that didn’t go with the florals and was nauseating. Qaaed was like a more masculine Shaghaf Oud / Sheikh Al Shuyukh Lux Edition (I think that’s it). No thanks. Pure Musk is like a “clean cotton” Yankee Candle- I don’t mind this as a bedtime cheapie. Ameer Al Oud Intense, you’re right, TOO MUCH SMOKE. Way more smoky than MMM “By the Fireside.” As you said, what’s the point smelling like a bonfire?? 😆 Khaltaat Al Arabiya is too pineapple/fermented/masculine for me at times. I still have all of these hesitate to declutter as my nose is developing, but it’s so nice to have my sentiments confirmed! Thank you!!

What do you all think of my idea? : Most of the times, when we suddenly dislike our signature scent, it is because we have developed as a human being and discover new sides or new features of ourselves and then feel the need to have a new signature scent which suits the new "I" which we have become.

I think of Bade'e Al Oud, Qa'aed, and Ameer Al Oud Intense as men's fragrances. I love them on the hubs except for Qa'aed, which is too cinnamon forward for both of us. Washwashah is something I gave to younger females from 16-25 because they tend to like raspberry and tuberose (it gives me a headache). Khaltaat Al Arabia Royal Blends is one of the few that really works for me but if I overspray it gives Giorgio Red vibes which annoys me. (Because I trained with perfume houses I never overspray but in the case of Royal Blends one spritz per wrist is the right amount.)

Hi. I totally agree with you that Badee al Oud has somethingcvery annoying: it is too smoky, even for middle to older age men. I am a 49 year old, masculine-looking guy and I purchased it because I wanted something that smelled like a boss.. but after wearing this for a few months, I am afraid that it smells like a burnt out boss. It is certainly not confortable for coworkers.. As an executive boss, I just wear it for meetings in which I want the other party to feel unconfortable and overwhelmed in order for them not too argue too much because they just want to leave as soon as possible. I not saying it stinks. It does not stink, but it smells a bit like a room where there has been a previous fire and there is not enough oxygen. It makes people want to take distance.. which is excellent in some occasions. To my taste, it makes people feel overwhelmed and unconfortable. I will not purchase it for a second time.

My friend had maahir gold and we all hated it, I imagine a 60yr old man with pipe smoke smelling like that😂 long story short… she’s sold it. I can’t believe that fragrance was made for women 😂

I should have trusted you more 😢 I just bought Mazaaji. Well it's not that bad, I smelled worse smells in my life but it is just like "meh"... l'm going to get rid of it. I could have made a better decision in lattafa

I always smell a synthetic DNA in Lattafa fragrances. I didn’t like Khamrah, Yara or even Nebras. Gave all 3 out. But I like Ameer Al oud Intense oud. I’m done with Middle eastern fragrances. I’ll rather save some money and get some good quality perfumes
@CeeChroniclesTalkingScents2 жыл бұрын
I’m struggling with Ameer Al Oudh, though lm ok with the other three. Lattafa does have affordable options but l do agree that some aren’t good at all.

There are probably hundreds of ME perfume houses at all pricepoints, maybe explore a different house?

I don't like Yara but only tried a deodorant spray.

I got just 3 fragrances from Lattafa - Lattafa Fakhar, Sheikh Al Shuyukh and Khamrah. Fakhar is extremely floral making it almost artificial. Khamrah and Sheikh Al Shuyukh are just too aggressive for my liking. Overall I did not like any of these 3 Middle Eastern Fragrances. However, recently, I got Middle Eastern Attars from a store in India and I thoroughly enjoy them. I think they have customized these fragrances to the Indian Olfactory Senses. 😀 I would rather stick to Indian and Western Fragrances rather than spending my bucks on Middle Eastern Fragrance Brands.

Unbelievable that you dislike khamrah.. Such is life. We are truly diverse

@@abdulrazaqamedu3839 Oh I am so sorry, to disappoint so many Khamrah lovers. 😞. It's truly unique, I will surely wear it given that i have it but it somehow lacks the feminine touch for me. 🙁

The Attars are not bad. I have a few. I love Khamrah and Sheikh though l can see how those two can come across as aggressive to some peoples noses. Thank you for watching ❤️

It is a bit cinnamon heavy and to an extent winter suited. It’s definitely for the spice and unisex scent lovers

I dislike Lattafa, to me they smell cheap and screechy and synthetic. I am going to see if Maison Alhambra is better. I do love Armaf and Afnan, never had a bad one

Maison Alhambra is Lattafa. The difference is they do mostly Western inspirations ❤️

@@ingrid8187DS 😂😂😂 To be fair, some people share that complaint. I'm the opposite because I love a bargain and a lot of Lataffa fragrances appeal to me. Almost everyone on my holiday shopping list is getting Lataffa this year and I can't wait!
