Comments on point! If Latvia picks Vestules (which I fear won't happen), I'd vote for Kur. My favourite among all songs in all national finals so far. There's something magical, fragile, innocent, powerful about it. Their young talent is outstanding. This delicate song screams the highest quality. Love from Slovenia.

I really like it. Don't know how it would do at Eurovision, but, I think these are the sort of young acts that Latvia should consider getting to work with proper producers and songwriters, and using that talent to put together a more accessible song for Eurovision itself.

Hi! At first I was disappointed with Supernova, but many songs improved in my eyes after live performances! For example, "The Cat's Song", "Mind Breaker", "Outsider" or "For the Show", "Kur". I would specifically mention the first 2, cause their improvment was significant. "The Cat's Song" in the studio was cute, but not much else. However, live performance was so funny in a good way, exactly what it needed to be and now I can't get the chorus out of my head! I also agree with you on "Mind Breaker". At first I was annoyed by the hook, but now I'm fine with that and this staging is so creative that I really like it as a package. "Kur" is a type of songs, which is often liked by me and live it, surprisingly, sounded better than in the studio version. It's not a choice for ESC, but I still enjoy it. However, in terms of songs, my favourite is still Dons. I get Imagine Dragons vibed and overall it sounds really professional. In the live performance, he was good vocally, but the staging was one of the most boring ones. The styling and background didn't really fit. If he goes to Eurovision, he'll need to improve it. Overall, now I don't see a 100% qualifier in this selection, considering that Aija, which is on the level above all these songs, didn't make it. "Hollow", "For the Show", "The Cat's Song" or "Mind Breaker" have a potential, but they all will have to make a very memorable staging to appeal to the voters.

So many of the songs really stepped up when it came to the live performance. Even songs that weren't on my radar, like Amsterdam or Mind Breaker did really good jobs of presenting themselves as well as they could. Dons has a professional song, and he sings it well. I don't see how it could qualify at Eurovision considering so much of his support in Supernova is based on who he is. But, as you said, if they're not qualifying with Aija, they might not even be qualifying anyway. Might as well be happy with what they're picking.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but The Cat's song was fantastic live and pretty much the best live performance of the bunch. I pretty much agree with most of your ranking, even though I'd put Saint Lévica slightly down (she's a very good singer and absolutely sells that chorus, much less of a rapper and the song still sounds messy despite really good ideas) and Avéi slightly up (song is a bit dated and conventional but give her good songwriters combined with her vocals and ability to perform, she could be a future Latvian representative). Patricija grew on me the most and I'd put "Mind Breaker" last, actually.

I definitely think Jar Of Kings could do a little bit better when it comes to their styling. The rest of the band look like IT workers on a weekend project and he's the guy who is taking everything WAY too seriously. I think it's like 70% now. It dominated its televote so expected, I guess?

Can´t say im a Fan of the Cats Song. Im just going to cringe off. Still better then "Katze" from the German NF, because it doesn´t take itself to serious. Overall I think this is not that great of an selection. I think its very likely Dons will win. My Favourite is Outsider

i gotta be honest, i don't like The Cat's Song as much as other people. It seems too obnoxious to like and the lyrics are, questionable. I have no idea what happened to Latvia but this year they just don't have anything to contend my top 5, let alone top 10, of eurovision. My highest is Na chystu vodu, which does make sense, and Mind Breaker. Na chystu vodu can at least reach top 15 unless they really pull off an amazing live performance like Minimal Wind did. Other than that, i do kinda hope Kur wins because that song definitely has the potential to do very well on the eurovision stage.

I mean, we've got to take all of these entries with the pinch of salt that is Sudden Lights not managing to qualify. It really does show exactly what Latvia is up against. Like Georgia, their lack of pigeon-holing themselves into Eurovision qualifying-type songs, is part of the reason I like Latvia. So many good concepts in here, but I still couldn't say any of them are really Eurovision qualifiers, and I don't actually care. XD
