@@viktorstagnetti7491 Um, it was red paint. Not hair dye. The kind of paint used to paint a house or a sign. That’s how it was in the original stream anyway. The Briarwoods weren’t trying to make it look pretty. I’m not saying it’s for sure Keyleth’s double, because we don’t know. What I am saying is that it for sure isn’t NOT Keyleth’s double. Also, presumably Laudna didn’t look like the Ring Girl and have black goo dripping off of her before she was murdered, so a lot could have changed… including the blackness of her hair. @ninboy012 жыл бұрын
Laudna wasn’t a little girl at the time. She was a young adult. She was most likely body used to represent Vex’s effigy.
@Rezinstance2 жыл бұрын
I get where you are going with this, but it is incorrect. 1. Undead/hollow ones do not continue growing, Laudna is a full grown woman. 2. The small girl's hair colour is blonde, Laudna's is deep black, much like the woman whom was meant to represent Vex on the tree. 3. In the animated series, the woman whom is meant to represent Vex, is wearing clothes not unlike Laudna's 4. The small girl turned zombie, not hollow one, we never see the one representing Vex again after the initial reveal. While the animated series does not seem to depict the detail about the mutilated ears, that could be just a detail that Marisha/Matt came up with after the series was already finalised. There is no doubt in my mind that the woman whom was meant to represent Vex hung from the Sun Tree, is Laudna. Whether that is her real name or not (I doubt it as Laudanum is a painkiller, and this may be Marisha naming her character in such a way that she planned on her being the kind of person that would want to help remove pain from others, or prevent similiar pain she went through at the very least), it's clear there is a LOT more to Laudna than people even suspect. Given that she was essentially born during the beginning of VM's rise to notoriety, she has had 30 years of experience, post her first life. It should be interesting to see more of her revealed down the line.

To clarify: you would create your backstory idea and discuss it with the game master (Matt in this case) so they know what prompts to feed you so that you can make a reference to the backstory. A backstory that never comes up is essentially wasted. So yes, Matt and Marisha both knew.
@tracelii90162 жыл бұрын
Marisha, but the character is based on a specific establishing event Matt described back in campaign 1 (linked to Taliesin's campaign 1 character, which is why I zoomed in on his reaction)
@abydosianchulac22 жыл бұрын
Also, to build on what @himmelsdemon said, Matt fills in the blanks for many of their backstories since he's already created so much of the world that the cast still isn't aware of (a world that is published and publicly available). For example, Liam said regarding C2 that he sent his character background to Matt, and then Matt sent it back to him with names and descriptions of the people who fit the events of his life. So the character's lives come from the cast member, but how their story exists in the world comes majorly from Matt.
@Blue_Lunacy2 жыл бұрын
As everyone's replies, it's a collaborative efforts between the player and the DM. To give another example, Taliesin wrote like a one page backstory for his character in C2 and basically wrote an equivalent of a blank check to Matt to do what ever he wants. However, Taliesin and Matt goes way way back, Taliesin played at Matt's table the longest. So Taliesin trust Matt enough to do this. But also, Matt had said that if player write detailed backstory, then there won't be a lot of room for surprises in the narrative.

Right gonna say this before watching the episode and before watching this video but I'm so confident about this that I'm just gonna say its not really a reveal that laudna is one of the people hung from the tree. It's a pretty obvious set up especially when you know she was killed in Whitestone and most people of the nameless characters to die that had an impact was them. Where else would she have died "oh I died in in the battle for Whitestone with no relevance to any plot at the time" vs "oh I was killed to send a striking impactful massage to a group I've never met" like one is better story telling then the other EDIT: I was right and I was about to put "the little girl on the tree" in my initial post but I assumed that it was a little boy in the campaign and the little girl was only in the TV show so when she said separated from parents I decided to watch the clip and matt does keep the gender of the hung child ambiguous so it could easily been a girl, but other then that I was fully right.

It's still a spoiler/reveal for those who either have not caught up on campaign 1 or 3. I'd rather say it's a reveal or a spoiler than for someone to walk into this and find out something they'd want to find out otherwise 😅 also I, like many others assumed this to be the case but it's the confirmation that's the reveal. It's the hearing her say it directly.

Honestly this reveal kind of annoyed me because everyone was so sure it was the case with like, no evidence whatsoever. That's got nothing to do with the cast though. It was a great idea from Marisha and it was executed beautifully. Hope Laudna's not tempting fate by saying the worst thing that could happen to her already did.
@VegetaLF72 жыл бұрын
It was speculation before. We knew she was from Whitestone, we knew she had died during the Briarwoods' time there, we knew she wasn't one of the nobility. It was speculated that she might have been one of the Sun Tree bodies but we had nothing concrete on that until now.
@lunarstream21052 жыл бұрын
I think what was cool was that even though this theory was already pretty popular, hearing her say it still gave most people that kind of horrifying shock of oh fuck it's *real*. She went through *that.* And hearing her describe it all... fuck, man I was really going through it. It takes a lot of fantastic acting to pull that much emotion from a reveal that we already had some awareness of the possibility of, and that's one of the many reasons I fucking love Marisha Ray.
@AnxietyRat2 жыл бұрын
Yeah...idk about it either. Either laudna lied about how she woke up in the beginning...or Marisha read a better theory and stuck with it. Bc laudna said she woke in a mass grave....and now it's hanging from the sun tree??? I hope we can get confirmation laudna was lying about the mass grave thing...or else this doesn't make any sense and feels like retconning her backstrory to make it more interesting, ya know?

@@AnxietyRat .....For the record I was not saying Marisha changed her backstory because of fans' theories. That's just silly.

@@belindaluna2067 I don't fully believe Marisha saw the fan theories and changed things either....but then WHY did the way she woke from the dead change so significantly? It doesn't make sense. Maybe Laudna didn't trust the others yet? Idk. I'm trying to think of some reason as to why the answers she gave were...very different in the beginning of the campaign compared to now. No one else seems to remember her explicitly saying she woke surrounded by other dead in a mass grave....they are just praising their theory got confirmed true...but I sure remember it lmao

I mean I can't say much for a bunch of strangers in a theater but I'm sure alot of people, myself included already came to that conclusion, but there's a whole host of reasons someone might not- it hardly calls for calling people slow. Either way I'm glad she confirmed it.

@@dylonbragg8331 Probably. Gaining points to “reset” himself before his demeanor change or whatever to block out the memories. But Laudna and Sun Tree reference was not obvious at all. Whitestone yes, but not the actually hanging on the Sun Tree…

I cant help be curious: what's cringe about it? The fact that it's a spoiler or the spoiler itself??? I'm lost, really
@One_Odd_Ood2 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry about it. At best it’s because people like to comment the word “cringe” on things they don’t understand and have no real input about but want to be noticed, and at worst it’s because they don’t like Marisha.

marisha is still the worst but great character moment one of the very few she's had on the show....still wish orion was there instead of her
@tracelii90162 жыл бұрын
Uhhh no one asked you to comment on marisha my guy. This is just about the characters don't make it negative. You're welcome to your opinion but this ain't the place for that conversation or language.

How very backhanded. You're entitled to your opinion, but Marisha has objectively crafted three complex, meaningful characters to Orion's zero.

I'm still fairly new to the show, so I don't really get this. How could you want him instead of Marisha? I'm legitimately asking since I don't really know what all went on before he left.

@@lizs2546 Poor life choices on Orion's part. For some reason, that I do not understand. A certain small sub-sect of people that watch the show have taken issue with Marisha. Anyone that has ever met her, knows her to be an amazing human being and a pure delight.
