I listened to this song 1 hour after it was released. My dog was sick and I was taking care of him, after he heard this song he relaxed more and fell asleep. I putted him in his little bed and went to sleep bc it was very late (almost morning). My mom woke me up two hours later saying that my boy passed away... Even though I'm sad, I'm relieved that he finally rested and glad that I could have this nice moment with him before he left. Thank you for this

If my grandfather were still alive, we'd probably be having a blast in his car admiring your music online as if we attended a surround sound private concert hall on repeat. Being his unpaid driver/chauffeur for 3 years, we'd always be in a bubble listening to E. Fitzgerald, L. Armstrong, C. Baker, N.K. Cole, B. Holiday, G. Miller, A. Tatum, (just to name a few) The morning car routine would usually start with Peggy's Lee's It's A Good Day. Next song would be L. Armstrong's "We Have All The Time In The World", then figure out the rest as we go along. I can only imagine what he'd say about your music but if I were to guess, he'd sum it up into 2 words, "Very nice." Thanks for the good stuff Laufey. This song is too good. Every time I hear that hook "Dear soulmate, do you think of me. Cuz I do." Just give me chills between the vocals, lyrics and instrumental at that part it just brings me to tears how good it sounds. Sounds so cinematic, dynamic and emotional. I think this moment in the song encapsulates everything I've ever wanted for a song of my own to have. Beautiful instrumental, great lyrics, chilling vocals. I think I've been waiting for something like this to come by so I could start writing my own songs. I'm excited to say that because of you, Laufey and this song. I've decided to start writing my own music, lyrics and all. Now I'm no singer but I'm slowly working on changing that by learning from home. In the past I always thought my improvisation and attempts at composition on piano were never good enough because I wanted something that sounded complex and captivating. Like one of those great classical pieces that many musicians strive to learn so badly. But you've shown me that you don't have to make things insanely complex or heavy theory wise in order for it to sound as beautiful as I want it to. I also remember you saying in one of your live streams about how every musicians skill level is different and we should never compare ourselves to other in a negative way because everyone is at Thier own level of skill at different times in Thier life that make them good at what they are doing in that moment. Well something along those lines lol. Not sure if you'll ever see this but I hope to someday share my music with the world just like you are doing. I love this song so much! the fact that it doesn't directly imply whatever relationship you have with this soulmate makes it furthermore beautiful, because there are some people who consider their platonic relationships (friends, best friends, pets, etc.) their soulmates. It's quite rare (from what I've seen) to stumble over a song that expresses love that doesn't state a specific type of love (romantic, platonic, family love, etc.) because often times, people look for a crush essence in songs but it's just refreshing to hear a song that you can interpret in your own way no matter what way you sing it, absolutely beautiful.
