At the beginning of the song, when Laufey sings "weather" and "together", It does sound deep, but I think it only sounds deep in her voice because her register is higher. When dodie sings the same notes, they sound natural. I don't have much experience with Laufey, but I know dodie has an incredibly deep register, so I think hers is deeper. Unless you meant deeper as in more meaningful lol

You’re spot on. This tune was written in 1941 by Ted Shapiro as “Winter Weather.” I wonder why they changed the title when there’s another jazz standard titled “I’ve got my love to keep me warm”
