I'd love to see Kabe Kaplan doing more new standup, but this appearance originally aired in 2014. Talking about Fred Thompson doing ads for reverse mortgages was a dead giveaway in that he died in 2015. Maybe Gabe could ease into doing some new standup, by taping some standup specials 5 years ago and then doing some doing some new stuff. In all seriousness, I was a huge fan of Welcome Back Kotter. I'd love to see him do more comedy. Maybe he could reunite with the surviving Sweathogs for an ad for something. Travolta did that Grease ad for T-Mobile not too long ago. The way that would have to work is for some ad agency to see if Travolta would be interested and then seeingif any of the others from the show are still around.

I've met 10 top celebrities in my life and Gabe Kaplan was the second. In 1978 I met Gabe Kaplan in the Record Dept at Kaufmann's in downtown Pittsburgh. 8th floor by the escalators. Mr. Kaplan was flipping through some records, and I immediately recognized him. I said, sir are you Gabe Kaplan? And he could not have been a nicer gent. We chatted for a bit about the records and then he gently let me go on my way. I was 15 and that was my biggest brush with fame since shaking hands with Roberto Clemente in 1971. Thank you, Gabe you will forever be in my top 10 brushes with fame.

I don't believe I've ever seen such an odd comment about a film EVER on KZbin - not even close... 'Young Frankenstein' is a classic comedy film originally conceived and written by the late Gene Wilder and directed by Mel Brooks, I believe.. I first watched it in a movie theatre when it was originally released and I had to return to see it again because the audience was laughing so hard that I couldn't hear half the lines very few films I've seen were actually that funny - 'Monty Python and The Holy Grail' was another, as was the original version of 'The Producers' (also starring Gene Wilder and directed by Mel Brooks) a brilliant film that easily surpasses the remake Trivial Poop: 'Young Frankenstein' utilized some of the same props built for the original 'Frankenstein' film PS: I think Netflix was running an excellent biography about Gene Wilder fairly recently, well worth watching, I thought
