This webinar formally launched the new WHO prototype curricula package on human resources for health. The curricula are available for institutions to adapt and offer specialist training in human resources for health leadership and management oriented towards policy decision-making specific to human resources for health, equipping learners to set and steward the human resources for health agenda effectively.
Access to health services depends on the accessibility, availability, acceptability and quality of human resources for health (HRH), which in turn requires effective leadership and management. Effective human resources for health is also critical for preparedness and response to emergencies and disasters, as we have seen with the COVID-19 pandemic. Human resources for health leadership and management requires technical expertise combined with judgement, foresight and balancing long-term planning with short-term demands.
