I swear there was couches in sections in the Sims 2 (was it nightlife, maybe?), so you could build any shape couch you wanted! I haven't played TS2 for yeeeears, but I recall building loads of L-couches. They need to bring back those, the couch-sections I mean! So much potential.

Why would they add a decrotive iron and ironing board in a laundry day stuff pack without adding ironing? Like ironing is boring but so its laundry and people usually iron their clothes ya know? I probably wouldn't have used it, but it just makes sense to add ironing as a thing to do

Evza I think the people who want to do laundry in the sims are people who don't get to do it in real life, so they see it as an adult thing that they want to play at doing in the sims, like they play at other aspects of adulthood in the sims. When I lived with my parents I was expected to do my own ironing from the age of about 12 but all my dirty clothes went into the family dirty clothes hamper which my mum washed and dried unless she asked me to help. I agree that adding ironing would have made it more realistic. Clothes do not come in a beautifully folded pile straight from the direr! The clothes could have a "creased level" as well as the other markers. Maybe wearing creased clothes for everyday is ok unless you are a snob, but wearing creased formal wear would be embarrassing.

They said they considered ironing but in the end they didn't have time to do it without reducing the quality of the rest of the items. Also the decor items were decided on before the gameplay items had been chosen. As for those thinking it's only people that don't do laundry that like this, I'm in my 20's and have done my own laundry for years. I enjoyed it in sims 3 and I'm glad to have it back. I enjoy making my sims start off poor and struggling and work their way up. So now they can start off needing to hand wash before being able to afford a washer/dryer and can ultimately hire someone else to do it. It's got nothing to do with wanting to play at being an adult and everything to do with wanting to make my sims lives as difficult as possible/show progression in their lives as they become more successful.

I'm really happy with the way you showed everything in the house! I think it shows more personality from the items and you can really seem them at work. Also it's not in a house with other things so it's a lot less distracting! Please do it next time as well!

So I would love to see if you could make a cohesive house by just using the default rooms. Obviously you would have to add a roof and some colors to the outside. But you wouldn't be allowed to change the wallpapers individually. I.e: you can use the color pallets included, but once placed no changes. I've honestly never tried. Would be cool to see.

There's an old episode of the television version of "Goosebumps" - called "Welcome to Dead House" - where there is an ugly wreath that (supposedly) keeps the dead from entering the house of the living. That's what the new wreath from this pack makes me think of.

Yeah, they should have made it like "The Chore Pack" or something like that where maybe you can broom, vacuum, wash windows, dust, etc rather than JUST laudry.

Well, it is just a stuff pack. For 10 USD that's a really good chunk of items (including CAS stuff that wasn't shown here) and some gameplay. If you look at other stuff packs, they're all themed around one small thing, like fitness, toddlers, movies, etc...I would've liked more chore options too, but laundry has always been kind of a separate thing and there aren't a lot of chores that aren't already a part of the base game. I'd say hope for a seasons expansion to add lawn related chores!

use the bay windows in your wags to riches house to put around the tree. Although the tops may intersect it could be a cool animal area to put your pets toys, food bowls, ect.

I'm from Poland and I think that in our country nobody uses dryers, we just hang the laundry on a drying rack. I don't even know somebody who has a dryer!

deutschesmaedchen We used to have one, but hanging your clothes to dry works great too. We hang them to dry over the night and they’re dry by the next morning! Not to mention, it can save quite a lot of money when it comes to bills 😛. I totally get why some people really love their dryers though

deutschesmaedchen Different cultures do different things. I have read that Americans, like myself, prefer foaming soap. The foam doesn't actually clean better than others. Our culture believes that it does so it continues to be popular.

Smal Piper yeah, no way they would ever dry in 100% humidity and -10 C temperatures during Eastern European winter. The best you can hope for with line drying is running an electric dehumidifier in drying mode right next to the rack for several hours. Otherwise, if you leave them outside they'll take up to a week to dry (and even then they stay a bit damp because of the cold). Drying them indoors with no dehumidifier will most likely result in mould growth. Dryers have a very specific purpose for most people, they're great when you can't line dry, which is 5-6 months/year for most of us in the northern hemisphere, I guess.

I LOVE the new doors, LOVE the new window and how you can put things INTO the window (ie: if you put a bed, you can put it so the head part is "outside" and they're looking up at the window) and I LOOOOOOOVE the woven rugs, I was so surprised you said you didn't think you'd use them. For roleplaying purposes. I'm not sure if it's a gameplay thing to actually give Sim kids chores or orders to do laundry, but it's still nice to pretend they *do* have the chores. Give them little "rewards" for doing so, etc.

Also super glitchy for me. Sims can't be directed to clean anything while sitting down at it. You have to have them stand up.

I think it didnt dry fully was because of one of his traits. If you have the neat trait, it will generally wash and dry better vs a normal trait. Also, the slob and lazy trait will make it much worse.

This was my favorite stuff pack in a long time, maybe even ever. I loved every item, even if not everything was a style I enjoyed, and the colors were great in everything. Plus, it gives stay at home Sims something else to do other than build a skill that I don't necessarily want them to be invested in.

Laundry day stuff is a tied fav stuff pack of mine with moschino stuff both of which add a game changing element (laundry and photography respectively) I love the added realism of laundry and while I loathe it irl it definitely helps create better immersion

This pack is the best. Having my kids look out the laundry room window with the sound of the dryer on while it’s raining is the most calming little environment ever. It also is a fun way to make my kids more responsible without fooling around with dishes.

I wonder if the sims team will add more scents as they add more packs like tropical, magical and it would be cool to add moodlets with them too. It could make witches more powerful with magic scents, add the garlic vampire repellent. Help sims feel calmer when adding lavender.

Gina Vong I’m pretty sure they don’t work unfortunately. The hampers that do work have a little disclaimer on them that says if you buy it your clothes will get dirty.

I'd say the wicker stuff goes in a sun room, gotta be careful with cushions and the outdoors, so why not have a sun room? You get both almost ^^ what since they're still enclosed like a regular room. Now I wanna be able to put that bucket under a counter sink...why can't I use the drawers in my counters! ;-; I hope they add that, I love doing things with clutter and I noticed the Sims 4 makes that really, really hard to do compared to say Sims 2.

Random bit of logic but I'm guessing you can't stack the washer on top cuz similarly in real life , the water line is in the floor or low on the wall so it makes sense. Adding water also makes it heavy so if it was on top would possibly be dangerous and damage the dryer which is lighter.

I love the laundry day stuff pack it adds more realism into the game. When it was announced I thought that this was perfect because you can imagine sims' clothes getting dirty overtime. The only thing I don't like about it is the whole action my sims do where they pick lint off their clothing constantly its getting a little annoying

Now that this pack is out of the way I hope the sims community will start voting on more fun stuff packs and stuff, while this adds something that was missing, I personally think some of this should have been in the base game. Just my opinion though. I hope we can get some cool or crazy packs, Sims 2 had some cool stuff to do and sims 3 added more cool ideas as well. I have yet to buy the sims 4 because nothing has screams out this is a fun sims game

Kinda hoped that when you changed out of an outfit, the clothes would go in the hamper and then you wouldn't be able to wear that outfit again until you wash it. Just portrays a sense of realism. Also I would've been ecstatic if I saw my actual clothes on the clothing line rather than a variety of just random clothes. Like if my sim changed out of a hoodie, put it to wash, then hung it up, that same hoodie would be on the drying rack. Dunno if it's worth $12CAD tbh :/ I was excited and the furniture looks nice, but from what I can gather, it seems very minimal and unnecessary. Also I was excited for eco-living... too bad it got voted out :(

I can't seem to get the laundry to work. I have laundry machines, hampers, wash bucket, clothes line placed, etc. Everything is accessible, but every time I get a sim to change their clothes, there's no clothes pile and it doesn't go into the hamper. :-( I do have MC Command Center installed and the Controllable Pets mod. I'm not sure why those would interfere with the laundry features though. :-/

Actually, it's not MCCC! Just did some troubleshooting and it turns out (at least for me) it was Graycurse's Ingredients Overhaul (from MTS). I went to go let them know that it's incompatible with Laundry Day, but it looks like Graycurse put out an update to the mod. Laundry is now working in my game! Woot.
