Have you ever thought about the kids helping out with their own laundry. Seems like it would save a ton of time for them to have their own baskets so you don't have to guess what belongs to who. And they could each have their own laundry day and do their laundry every week on that day! Have a great Sunday!

Jordan Page has a good clothing/shoes labelling system for large families. The eldest boy and girl each get one dot on their clothing. The second eldest boy and girl get two dots. The third eldest boy and girl get three dots and so on. And if you hand the clothing down to younger siblings you just add dots to match their dot number.

I love that everyone finds a way that works for them! As another large family mom (I have 10 children) laundry is one of the never ending tasks. We are able to do laundry at home, I admire the hard work you do taking it all to the laundromat right now since you need to! Our method is to do 1-2 loads a day and kids put them away at bedtime. I'm a fan of doing what works for you!

You're so right.. Everyone telling her what they think she should do like they even know how to manage so many kids.. Smh.. I come from a family of 7 kids + 5 kids from the neighbourhood who basically grew up in our house as well.. Lol.. And doing laundry for 9 people was my job.. And it WAS NOT EASY.. AT ALL.. Back breaking work.. I had to wash 2 full barrels (shipping barrels ) of clothes every week.. And we didn't have a dryer.. So it was to hang them to dry and then fold them, I wish we had access to a laundry and the money to pay for it.. But we didn't.. Let her do what works for her.. I personally found it much easier to do stuff myself.. Cuz I did it faster alone! I used to cook for 14 people every day.. So watching her videos.. even tho I may not agree with everything I see.. Warms my heart and makes me remember my childhood vividly.. (the good parts!) Yes I was 13 and 14 years old doing all of that.. Up until I was in my early 20's.. I still have back issues from that.. But I was happy being with my siblings and the neighbour's kids.. It was fun.. It was heavenly.. And I enjoyed it the most.. 😊 Can't wait to have my own big family.. 😇

I have 4 kids and I do my laundry just like Alicia. I just put their piles in the family room sofa and they grab them on their way upstairs and put them away. For me it’s just easier and I find it relaxing to fold and organize the clothes in their piles. To each his own.

I showed my husband the short last night and said, "she's making people piles!!!!!" because that's how I do it: Vacuum first, then start with a giant heap, sort it all out into a basket/pile for each person (and a separate one for socks and undies) and then break each pile down into shirts and pants... fold, stack, next! My boys usually help put it all away at the end, but sometimes it's just my zen time.

People get way to invested like they are a part of this family. If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. You can’t possibly feel justified commenting on how they live when you only see small pieces here and there of their daily life. Have you seen her kids out in public? All respectful and help with each younger sibling. I’d say they are doing great job at teaching and raising them. I know plenty of moms who find laundry to be therapeutic and a time alone. Be kind or skip onto something else!

The best tip I saw on youtube regarding socks was to get each member of the family many pairs of the same brand and the same colour....that way you never need to try to find maching socks! Every member of the family has a basket with his colour of socks...no need to mach no need to wonder who thise socks belong to....just throw the socks by colours to the baskets and that's it....saves me so much time

I was just thinking the same thing. I also think an important lesson to learn as a little human is what is dirty. If it is worn for 5 minutes or tried on it does not go in the dirty clothes. Sorting socks, undies and towels surely would be a big help. Also was thinking, if you have a WALDO basket set somewhere. If item gets to wrong child, neatly put it in the basket for someone to seek out. 💜💜💜

I agree with a lot of the other people on here. Why aren’t all of the older kids doing their own laundry? Like not only does it help teach responsibility but it also helps take some of the load off of momma if they were helping around the house and not just with laundry, and then maybe momma wouldn’t have to get up at 5:00am everyday and can actually do something for herself for once! But still love the videos!!

Some people like doing laundry for others. People need to chill with kids need to help out comment! My mom liked doing laundry for us and she had a specific system with ironing afterrwards etc. Trust me, she didnt want any of us near that washing machine. And guess what, I learned how to do my own laundry when I went away to college and all it took was going to the laundromat with my friends. It is not a crazy high level life skill that needs to be honed in from childhood.

I know you have a issue with sewer etc. I think I would get a wringer washer and do the laundry a couple times a week and have baskets and as the clothes dry they go into each basket and the kids can fold their clothes and put them away. Of course the little will need help. They learn about how to do laundry and and be helpful. I'm so thankful Mom taught us skills we would need as adults.

I have a suggestion I had 5 kids and the laundry pile was never ending also. I would spend hours sorting folding and so on. So I gave each of my kids their own laundry basket and when I washed their clothes. I would put their clothes only in a washer and dryer and then put them back in their basket. That was their clothes were all together and it didn’t get mixed up with their siblings.

If you have a laundry room, add a shelving unit for clean clothes (each child gets a shelf). Each child is given a laundry basket to bring to the laundry room for both washing the clothes at the laundromat and retrieval of the clean clothes. When you get washer/dryer, all will be maintained in one room. Good luck.

You need a laundry system like you have for food. Try this! Today, have each child take clothes to room and do any switching with other children. Give the older kids a sharpie and have them write their name on tags. I like the name stamps but will take a while to order and get in. Sharpies work fine. Then send hubby to the store to get a basket for every child. Put their name on the baskets. Now anyone- child, helper, etc. can sort the clean clothes. Then each week the child can fold and put away their own clothes. Once the sewer problem is solved, start with the older kids and you can teach each child how to do their laundry and give them a day of the week.

Another reason why I don't like to comment on social media..as people can be mean rather then politely stating they disagree.. if you disagree with someone that's why there is a thumbs down icon... have a blessed day everyone..btw..I think she is a fantastic woman for what she does.. that's why I enjoy watching her channel

Maybe try getting 12 of those small round laundry baskets from dollar tree or Walmart and put their name on it and line them up and thrown their stuff in there after folding. Then they can each take their basket and put the clothes away and you can stack the baskets when you’re done.

I am assuming that you don’t actually wash and dry the clothes you just leave them at the laundromat and they do it. If that is the case would it be better if you gave them a bag of clothes for each person in the family and they wash everything separately. That will save you doing the sorting out when you get home. Just a suggestion. Love your channel Clearly I commented this before I finished watching the full vlog. You are changing the system hopefully it works out for you

Hi Alicia👋👋👋 Omg, you’ve got a mountain of laundry to fold, holy cow, it’s a lot😳 I’d be there for days sorting😂😂🤣 You’re an incredible mom who makes everything so nice, your family is fortunate to have you and vise versa🙏 I remember growing up having to do the family’s laundry bc my mom also worked full-time to make ends meet so my older brother & I did the house cleaning everyday and I started doing laundry at age 8yrs old, I didn’t like the responsibility especially since my dad wore button down silky-like shirts I had to iron, I hated it😫 which is probably why is dislike doing laundry now in my older years, I’ll wash/dry them but I can’t stand to fold or do anything else, hence the reason my clothes sit in bags in my room, I know I’m a mess🤦🏻‍♀️ I blame my parents🤷🏻‍♀️ TYFS, this was fun plus I’m in awe of you and your tenacity to get things done. I hope you and your family have a blessed and peaceful day, enjoy!♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️PS: I love your dress, it’s looks so nice on you👍👍👍

My friend used to.write their names on labels and play a game where the kids had to.find their own laundry after it was washed . They each got a basket and when it.was all.done.it was.popsicle/story time. I used to then help with the ironing , which was mind numbing 🙈. Go Alicia ! Xx

Your kids are really lucky to live with you. I'm obsessed with your channel and I finished watching all the videos and shorts within 5 days. I have some doubts as well, always you show how you prepare your kids meals. But, what about you and Josh? Show us that too. And show us how is your night time routine with 12 kids at home. I always get a feeling like I am travelling with you in your fam. Love from SriLanka ❤️

Honestly, you are amazing! I only do laundry for 5 people, but this was life-changing for me: Have everyone write their name on clothing with a sharpie (only my husband and son had to do this, as they wear the same size) Everyone has a small laundry basket with their name on it....After folding the laundry, I place it in their respective basket...they are responsible for taking the basket from laundry room to their own room and putting clothes away...then promptly bringing basket back to laundry room. This was so, so helpful and time saving for me.

If you get hooked up to sewer and do laundry at home, maybe you could designate each day of the week to 2 of the family to do the laundry. For instance Alex and James Monday, The twins Tuesday and so on. Sunday would be yours and Josh. You can include each persons bedding on their day. We had septic in our first house and it was heavenly when they hooked us up to sewer. In your situation I pray they get a move on and get you hooked up soon.

A maybe good rule of thumb, when you’re old enough to use and charge a device- You can be taught to run a washing machine and dryer. Laundry days assigned or tackle it as a Family, while enjoying each others company during movie.

Why not get 12 mesh laundry bags, one for each kid, just for socks. They put their dirty socks in their mesh bag, not mixed up with the clothes. The bags go in washer then dryer and eliminates all that time sorting.

Think about another shelving unit like the one you have for like clothes but with named bins. Sort in the bins instead of the floor. Older kids fetch and fold their own and that would cut out some valuable time for you. Just a suggestion.

Maybe buy big, different colored mesh bags and have each kids laundry in the bags. Tie the bag closed, wash the filled bags, and dry the filled bags. Then give the kids their bags so they can open them and fold their own clothes and put them away. That way each kids clothes stay together. I hope this makes sense. You just have to make sure the bags aren't packed tight so the clothes can move around inside and get cleaned and dried well.

Have you ever thought about a laundry bag, labeled for each child, then you could just wash the bag with the contents? I know some clothing (like heavily soiled, etc). may need to be washed separately, but if it were me, I would have a system like that.

Maybe give each child their own pop up hamper and let them fold and put away their own clothes. I know you probably enjoy doing it. If they get new clothes pop their initial on the label with a laundry marker. I've bought laundry bags/small net bags in the past for socks, they were like 2 for £1. If each child puts their socks or underwear in it, they can be washed and put through the dryer in it. It keeps each person's things together. it will give you some more time to yourself.

We were a family of eight back when everything had to be ironed including sheets. My dad got rid of the washing machine because he was tired of my Mom washing every day. He had we kids take turns and bring the laundry to the laundromat across the street. We had to fold it before we brought it home then we were all responsible for ironing and putting it away. I can't imagine doing laundry for 14 including sheets and towels.

It’s easy to see that you pride yourself on doing the best for each of the kids! But Mama you need to get them involved with the laundry. It’s a lifetime skill we all need. Going to the laundromat is an excellent learning experience. Those clothes could be folded and sorted before you head home. In the long run, one less thing for you and a worthwhile experience for them! God be good to you, you are the best!

Hi I love your channel so much! I had a family friend with several kids and they used a color coded laundry bin system....not sure if that would work for you? That way when you go to the laundry mat the same clothes go back in that child's bin after you wash and dry them. This way you know whose clothes are whose without having to write names on every piece of clothing. Just a thought 🙂

I'm sure laundry is difficult right now bc of your water situation. It would probably be impossible to do loads by person but what if you had 12 smaller laundry baskets to put their folded stuff in so they can just grab their basket. I'm just looking at your piles and imaging things gets mixed up when the kids come to put them away lol. I'm sure you do what works best for you but just a thought! Love your videos!
