@@berniekatzroy I lived with my cousins in Hephzibah Georgia as a young child, and a little ways down the road was a general store, a literal ma and pop shop, owned by an old married couple. I used to go there just to hear the old man and his wife banter aggressively with each other because the wife was just unhinged at probably 59 years old and would constantly air her husband's old dirty laundry to customers- I remember being subjected to a long rant about how her husband had an affair a number of years before, but she was a good person because she forgave him etc. That shit used to make me laugh so hard when I would recount it to/with my cousins afterwards

Everything about this is so good. I love the retro feel of it, like a cartoom from the 70s/80s/90s gone wrong. I love the fact that basically every human character has a drastically different art style, with Laura's being the strangest. I love how natural the voice actors sound despite the weirdness of what's going on. I love how Laura looks when she's angry, especially since it's so disproportionate with her voice, which just sounds like a mildly annoyed lady. RIP Lisa though

I like to think Laura is a character from another tv show universe casually living in this one. Her unusual appearance and comparatively calm responses to bad situations makes it seem like she either doesn't understand what is happening or is simply incapable of responding with the same range of emotion as the other characters in this universe would.

I really love that no matter what, laura never hurts ralph when shes angry, because i absolutely expected it for some reason when she turned red the first time. But instead she just mildly scolds him like any normal person would and then gets back to being happy.

Not to overshadow this being genuinely funny, but this animation so incredibly accurately captures the look and feel of cartoons from the late 70s/80s/early 90s, I've never seen something post 2000 even come close. It's interesting how Laura's inability to register the negative behaviors of people around her is a curse as well as a blessing. She doesnt notice the bloody bag the guy drags around or the boss' foul language, almost as though they're invisible to her. Near the end the murderer thinks that Laura has followed him and seems prepared to kill her. But when Laura clearly doesn't notice Lisa's corpse, the killer lets her go. Lisa's murderer gets off scott free, but Laura is also alive.
