4:23 sacrificing his humanity to save Laura proved Will to be more human than Stewart ever could be. There was no other way to save her. Even though throwing away the amulet was a one-way trip, he still made that sacrifice for her, proving his words earlier to her to be genuine. A lesser man would've stayed in the cage with the amulet around his neck, knowing that Stewart would be lost anyway to the curse. But a real man would never stand by and let a woman be assaulted, especially if he loved her. And who knows how many others would've been killed by his former protege if he wasn't stopped right then and there?

Stewart was gonna rape and kill Laura he was already evil and a back stabber. Will had no choice he had to save Laura by sacrificing his humanity it was the onlu way to save her.

8:45 this last moment between the two of them says it all. Will wants to stay with Laura, but the wolf is fighting him and unfortunately winning. It's a very subtle pull away from his humanity as he lets go of her hand and his new wild instincts take over compelling him to run. Jack and Michelle sell this moment perfectly.

Will did say to Stewart earlier in the movie that he''d get him. I think with all that hatred he had inside him, plus the fact he was more evolved by that point, I think that's why he had the upper hand over Stewart, despite being 20-30 years older.

@Artisan1979 Yeah. One of the thing si love about this movie is that if you remove the werewolf aspect entirely, the plot still works as is. The aging professional, the scheming protégé, the cheating wife, all leading to a murderous climax. It would be like an old noir movie.

1:51 The guy is partially transformed, and this doesn't phase the security guard? Or maybe he just regard him as a weirdo to be thrown off the property? Off-topic I'm surprised that Stewart is changing this quickly, that he's giving in to the wolf. He even seems more transformed when he's fighting Will. James Spader really sells this "I don't give a fuck what I say or do I'm going to get what I want" attitude as opposed to his weaselly manner before.

Good scene. I would've liked it better if instead of jumping over the cage, Jack had been like The Hulk, and bent & pushed the bars on either side of him like they were a pair of curtains. Or knocked the front of the cage wall down.

There is an earlier scene where Will goes to the zoo at night and although he was already beginning to transform he could still speak, Stewart was just at that stage. Here we see how the curse completely consumes Will and he is no longer human.

This is just... just awful. All those talented actors and for what? Some campy B-movie slop, complete with 1960s melodramatic score. Seriously, the only thing missing was Adam West's Batman slowly passing through the scene "climbing" a horizontal rope.
