“I’m alone, him and me” What a line. So much meaning in five simple words.

To me, Laura Marling is the grand daughter of Jethro Tull. Her music is moody, vulneralble yet robust and very pleasant. I love her!

I'm enchanted so much by this girl. She can be my pied piper, someone who can create this art is incredibly special. I wish I was educated enough to have the vocabulary for words for her, as right now I feel breathless after hearing this song. Perfection in this universe, was supposed to be impossible but it's been proven wrong by Laura Marling. Just.. Wow.

I might be a part of this Ripple on water from a lonesome drip A fallen tree that witness me I'm alone, him and me And then life itself can not aspire To have someone be so admired I threw creation to my king With the silence broken by a whispered wind All of this can be broken All of this can be broken Hold your devil by his spoke and spin him to the ground And root to root and tip to tip I look at him my country gip Let it up I own his fears But someone brought you close to tears Many trains and many miles Like you to me on this sunny isle And what of which you wish to speak Have you come here to rescue me? All of this can be broken All of this can be broken Hold your devil by his spoke and spin him to the ground But the love of your life Lives but lies no more And where she lay a flower grows The arms are fed and the babes have wed And the backs have bled, keeping her in tow But I am your keeper And I hold your face away from light I am yours till they come I am yours till they come Eye to eye Nose to nose Ripping off each other's clothes In a most peculiar way Eye to eye Nose to nose Ripping off each other's clothes In a most peculiar way
@ozymandias79406 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the lyrics, I think there's a couple incorrect? "Many trains and many miles (brought) you to me on this sunny isle". Also I think it's "Room to room" not root to root... Just my opinion, I could be wrong

Oh, the Indian adventure.. It was so inspiring and filled with wanderlust to read about Laura and Mumfords in India at the time.. A time when a weekly music magazine still just about meant something; 'least to me anyroad. I see now what I didn't see then and hear what was previously unheard. Thank you forever Laura!

When I was younger my mum had an iPod, I use to plug into a speaker and dance to the songs, trust me I am no dancer it would of looks awful but loved the music and loved to dance, anyway 14 now big fan of peaky blinders, looking at the soundtrack for Peaky blinders. She sings what he wrote in Peakys I was on Apple Music saw her album cover, I was like hang on I remember that, clicked on it and found this song! Literally just listening to it brought back so many memories, me swilling around to the quick tempo in the kitchen, when I was about 5. 14 now and so happy to of finally found it after many years wondering what it was. Just thought id shared 😂

@dwviolinist Yes, they have worked with her many times. Especially Marcus and Ted. They were in her band for her first two albums. You can hear Marcus singing back up vocals in almost all of her songs. I doubt they will be as involved with her new album "A Creature I Don't Know" (out September 2011). They have been pretty busy doing their own thing.

Laura. I rewrote many of your songs when I was 22 because my plan was to move to London with my sister and join the folk scene and marry you. I wanted to play my rewritten songs to you to woo you. Sadly my sister- the more talented one out of the duo wouldn't relocate and this never happened. Consequently, we have never met, nor will we ever, haha! But I wish you all the happiness life has to offer. In another life! Take care!
